I only spent a year there but its a great city!! Lots to do .
My favourite pubs were an brog, the oval and the quad, the ravan simply cos the tunes were great and thats where the lads liked to meet. Also Worthy of a mention are The Franciscan Well on 14 North Mall, Costigans on Washington Street, The Bodega on Cornmarket Street, The Old Oak on Oliver Plunkett Street ( can get very busy on a weekend), Mutton Lane Inn
Mutton Lane (Patrick Street).
For food, My favourite resturaunts were greens (which is near the train station) a bit away from the pubs mentioned. There is also a nice tapas bar Boqueria on bridge street ( get there early!)
As for clubs, again loads. I hated havanna brownes, but you will probably end up there.
Another option could be an activites and meal at the Mardyke Entertainment complex (pool, bowling, Casino, Boozing), which is a fairly good way to spend an evening.
What ever you do, leave some room in yer bellies for a Hillbillies BLT at the end of the night after a feed of beer. AH my taste buds still explode with the prospect. Mucho, Mucho.
Im sure others here will have lots of other advice, but dont miss out on the BLT...thats an order!!

Hi,
I was there 2 years ago and we used go out in fairly big groups. No problems. Dont think youll have any trouble. If you wanted to book the mardyke for one of the nights, you should do so in advance. The night I spent there was great, I was totally smashed when I left though ( might be a nice way to start the weekend on the friday). ANy way enjoy.

I was living in Cork for the past 2 years, only moved away 2 months ago and the bloke from Cork you spoke to was spot on. The city is dead this time of year particularly at night but that coming from someone who lived there, so you might be ok going down for a night or 2 with your mates.
Getting into places in large groups will be fine once you are not a group of Dublin lads or none of your mates are english (found out about both of those the hard way).
Note: All of the night clubs are awful and An Brog stinks! Also avoid the Mardyke bar (near the court) and all new cosmo bars which have sprung up around the city.
One more thing, avoid staying in Jury's Inn on Parnell place.
In truth, if you want a proper cracking lads weekend away go to Belfast.

Hows thinga avid we were there two years ago on a stag and had a great time, i suppose in really depend on who you are with and what you make of it, there was only one place we could not get into so we went back the next night in smaller groups and got in no probs,
we were in a boozer on washington street called riordans and it was a decent enough spot, we also went to watergrass hill on the saturday to a go kart track and it was deadly by far the best one i have been to it was more like a mini gran prix track they were also talking about adding more to it like shooting ranges its well worth a visit for something different !
i will pm you with the other names of the places we went when my mate who is from cork gets back to me witht hem !
