Just a little look around(lfconline.com mainly) this morning on a few forums seems babel is getting bad press from some supporters saying he is the new el-hadji diouf.

Bit unfair really the match yesterday was crap but in all fairness 70 mins into his Liverpool career and his already getting criticised. Seems more liverpool fans are becoming like the scum down the road in OT..

I haven't seen any of these posts myself, but if thats whats been said its shocking bad form. In all fairness you couldn't pick out any player yesterday who put in a performance, and as for the game against Bremen I thought he was decent enough. I remember when he was on the edge of the D outside the box and he has 3 defenders going in all different directions, almost Henry like. I wish this young fella all the best, not that he needs it. Going to be a star for us, that I have little doubt.

I was impressed by him, seems willing to get into the box, has great pace. A bit rough but I think his attitude is better than diouf's ever was. I also think thats the key difference between these new players now and houlliers failures.

I personally can't wait to see him prove all his critics wrong. I think this is one of the downsides of interenet, it gives everyone a voice and everyone wants to have the last word so it never ends.

babel will be a great addition.

i agree there, seems to be a great attitude. Watching the game yesterday i knew there was going to be detractors jumping at him already. Lets be honest he wasnt great. Being more honest, no one was. It was a training exercise, well actually probably slower considering they had already trained that morning!!!!! I do have high hopes for al our new signings but i do feel we have been spoilt , just hold on ofr the reasoning. Most players Rafa has bought somehow appear to be Reds from Birth. There is an eagerness and passion in what they say! I just think there hasnt been this anticipation around Babel, through no fault of his own, he will grow to Love Liverpool. After all, Fowler was a blue nose for a while and we strightened him out.:D

Having only gotten to watch the first half I was unimpressed with Babel from what I seen. Seeing that was the first time I seen him I wouldn't rush to any conclusions based on a pre-season kick-about but he didn't look up to much and I think people should be allowed air their opinions no matter what. I'm sure he'll improve come August 11th. More worringly though was the performance of our new reserve "Keeper" who couldn't catch a cold based on yesterday's first 45......

I have not seen the comments or do not visit the said forum but its a bit harsh to label it as a "bad forum" because a few people make very rash comments !

The trouble with the internet these days is that every idiot has an equal say.

lfconline.com is always like that, jumping on players if they have a shocker.

Yes he had a bad game but so did most of the players playing on both teams, so i wouldnt worry to much what they are saying.

its also shocking the fall out of yesterdays match against portsmouth.

People having digs at rafa, kyut and torres and "we still need a better winger debate rages on."

its a pre season friendly for a meaningless cup, and regardless of if we won it or not it would be forgotten two weeks into the season. Much like our victory in the charity shield last year.

I can't blame anyone for anything in the match apart from not really giving a sh*t!

Babel hasn't impressed me with what i've seen but i'm really not going to hold that against him and i look forward to seeing how he deals with the premiership and how he performs!

To be honest, i can't see him getting many games this year...with Vorinin impressing already, and with his experience, i believe he will be more likely to be on the bench, because there's not going to be room for three strikers...Crouch will either be playing or on the bench depending on the game and rotated with Kuyt...this year i believe Rafa is looking to ease him in possibly most FA and League cup and maybe the lower placed teams...but unless we get injuries, i can't see him being a huge factor this year...Don't get me wrong, he is a promising player, i watched all the U21 games and he looked impressive...

I dont know, I can see the lad doing well for us this season, kinda like the way van Pirese yer ears came onto the scene with the arse. I know its against the popular belief but thats my take on him.
