He did the decent thing before he was pushed unlike the football managers who squeeze all they can get.

Too true, it's a sad end, but it was coming for sure. He should be remembered for the good things and not the last 6 months. Good luck Eddie whatever you do next.

I think he will be remembered for not getting the best out of Ireland most talented ever squad. No Six nations, never mind grand slam and no impact at the World Cup, hammered by France in 2003 and a complete joke at the last World Cup.

I only really have a passing interest in the game, but thats what I will remember from him.... oh yeah and the great gift grub sketches.:D:D

He done the right thing for himself and Irish Rugby. A New Dawn on the horizon, lets hope the new appointment will be world class.

I know eddie and it is sad to see him go. I think he got it very wrong at the world cup (or more specifically the build up and as hed say himself...you cant unring a bell). The players lost faith and he was a deadman walking in this six nations. Irish rugby needs to move on. Hard to know who to get now. Kidney probably wont be considered. Would they give it to an inexperienced coach or go for an outsider. Personally Id move for Eddie Jones over jake White.

We need to get someone in who will let our players play.
