Need to keep the momentum going with this one. Newcastle are shocking at the moment, their defending is woeful. Lets hope that continues on Sat...

The only worry I have is whether Rafa will decide to rest players ahead of Inter game. That could also mean a change of system along with personnel. It could work out fine and we beat Newcastle with the likes of Crouch, Benayoun, Lucas and Pennant but if it goes wrong then some momentum and consistency could be lost just as it was starting to come together....

We have great pace in the team with Babel, Gerrard and Torres and they are starting to play well together. Stevie finally has players able to keep up with him and play on his wavelength!

Anyway, predictions wise I think it'll be 3-0 to Liverpool.

    Newcastle

This should be another win and a few goals as well since the confidence in that newcastle team will be low.

Rafa should stick to the same 11 as he has done for the last few games i feel, even with inter on tuesday, kill the game by half time and rest a few of the players that will start on tuesday.

Newcastle have to get there first win under keegan from somewhere tho and knowing the way football goes, might happen at anfield.

Andy '99% of what I say is rubbish' Gray has been correct in one thing he always says at this time of year.

If a team is playing well and doing well they dont get tired, they just want to play games so there is no reason to rest anyone.

The form Torres is in we wont need to worry about him getting injuried as Newcastle will be chasing his shadow all day unless Barton is given instructions to try and break him up, while playing FIFA at home on his PS3

I have an irrational fear about things like this. I'm convinced that things like this always seem to happen to Liverpool.

"On comes Joe Cole for Chelsea at Anfield. The last time a person named Cole scored at Anfield it was 1956 and it was also the 5th Feb and he also played for Chelsea and his dog was also named Rex III, just like Joe Cole's!" You just know what's going to happen next.

I can see the headlines already - King Kev Kop K'O or some equally naff alliteration like that.

Our record against Newcastle is superb and they are woeful, woeful!

If we don't win by two clear goals then we don't deserve 4th!

I'd say Newcastle are dreading the trip, full strength Liverpool it could be any amount of goals, but more than likely some will be rested with the Milan game next week.

Probably getting a bit ahead of ourselves planning for a 3-0 demolition and changing players at half time. I know Newcastle are weak but they will still raise their game a lot coming to Anfield and remember we were only 1-0 up at half time with the hammers and it could have easily been 1-1 . Should probably start with his strongest squad considering the BS are playing sunderland on sunday so they'll prob get 3 points out of it, anyways im sure torres feels he has a score to settle after all the chances he missed against them away

I think that's a good point. Players apparently do think like that even at the highest level. If Torres starts then I think he'll be sure to make his mark.

I'm in Anny Rd end tomorrow - be great to see him get a hat-trick live!

    MASCHERANO OUT OF NEWCASTLE CLASH

Javier Mascherano has been ruled out of Liverpool's Premier League clash with Newcastle United tomorrow.
The Argentine star limped out of the 4-0 victory over West Ham with a muscle problem and will be sidelined for the visit of Kevin Keegan's Magpies this weekend.

He is also doubtful for the midweek trip to Milan when the Reds will be looking to protect a 2-0 first leg lead and book their place in the last eight of the Champions League.

"I will need to speak to the doctors before we decide about Inter Milan but he will not be available this weekend against Newcastle," said manager Rafael Benitez.

Peter Walton is the ref for this one. This will be his third Liverpool game of the season but his first in the Premiership.

His previous two games were also at Anfield against Cardiff City in the league cup and Luton Town in the FA Cup. 2 wins out of 2.

Be prepared for some dodgy decision's by walton. i think he's a useless ref from what ive seen of him in the past.

hope torres starts with crouch up front. torres is unplayable at the moment. i dont want to see lucas leiva in the team. stevie and alonso in the middle with two wide boys, babel and yossi playin
