I think this whole 'affair' (boom boom!!) just highlights how obsessed society has become with celebrities and footballers in particular. Why their is such a media storm about the whole thing is beyond me. I remember reading an article when Crouchie was caught with his pants down, a former basketball player in America said that everyone of his team mates would have been unfaithful on away trips at one stage or another.
If you were to go through the England team at present, almost half them have been caught out (Terry, Cole, Lampard, Crouch, Rooney). One of the reasons they have been caught out though is because their ladies were high profile figures as well, so the story would have double the impact.
I just don't get it, rich married man has an affair and its the biggest news story this year.

I think also people follow these stories about how sportmen and celebs think their wedding vows mean less than everyone else. Didnt Tiger say he felt he had earned the right to cheat.
Fact is there is no way to stop a story leaking one way or another and had Giggs come clean to begin with at the start it would all be long over by now but now its entered the political forum.
I know most people have no sympathy for Imogen Thomas but she has been torn to shreds in the press for months unable to defend herself or be landed in court, even though it takes 2 to tango and Giggs is the more guilty she made herself available but he chose to follow through.

Giggs although is a Manc, Has been a tremendous servant to his club. I'm just watching a recording from Match of the day last night, and they said that yesterday was his 900th Appearance for Utd, and his 500th start.Surely he can't have come off the bench 400 times? That stat has to be incorrect.
