Saw that on Channel 4 news last night, weird that someone was there filming it from so far out before the runway. How the whole plane didn't crash and burn I don't know. An airbus too, over 300 people on it. Some skills from the pilot, although he should have probably aborted the landing long before that.
Don't think there was a need to abort landing seeing as the pilot followed all standard procedures to land a plane in cross winds - you can't fathom last second freak winds. The fact that he landed the plane on the second attempt shows again that there was no need to abort.
rumour has it that a certain member of this site was the pilot. Reder, is there any truth in these rumours?? i have dismayed these rumours as i know your landing skills have improved since your last botched flight landing!!
