Anyone interested in starting up a 2nd League for the craic? Was thinking of something with a theme like maybe all players have to be declared Irish or Welsh or English or whatever (just 1 nation)... Maybe all players picked have to be past Liverpool players - surely there are enough to make a team from. Maybe all surnames have to begin with the letter M... I dunno, nothin finalised yet. Just seeing if people are interested and if so, do you have any ideas for a theme?
An Irish eleven mightn't be a bad idea for a bit of a laugh. If its a struggle to fill the squad we could expand it to any three Liverpool players/Celtic(Scottish, NI or Wales) players as well
I reckon there'd be no hassle getting a team of Irish players together, there's plenty of them in the league now. Dont wanna make it too easy either by adding more nations. Bring it on... hopefully we can get numbers to go ahead with it.

OK, setting up a league for the craic, all are welcome on here, I will post the password soon, The only rules are that all your players have to be Irish, both North and South included. Hope we get a good turn out and good luck to all involved.
I've been reviewing all the Irish players in the Premiership and it looks like most fantasy teams would be the same as there isnt a great selection. So I've decided that players have to be either Irish, Welsh, Scottish or English. The other catch is that you are only allowed one player from the Big 4 (ie Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal). So if you have Stevie G in ur team then you cant have Fat Lampard too... sorry Frank Lampard that is . Just trying to spread the selection of players across the whole league rather than everyone selecting the same side. The code to join the league is 282471-57827 The above rules are by no means set in stone just yet as the season has yet to begin. But if anyone has any further ideas, dont hesitate to pass them on. Again, its just for a bit of craic over the long season.
Yes... out of Liverpool, ManUtd, Chelsea and Arsenal, you can only select one player, not one player from each team, just one player from either team. So if you have Finnan, you can't select another player from any of the Big 4. Just trying to make it interesting
Sounds good I'll pick a team today. Should it not be your allowed to have one non-Irish player from the top 4 i.e you can have Finnan and Carra?
As I've already said in the earlier posts, the rules havent been finalised just yet. So as it stands the rules are as follows: 1. All players selected must be from either Ireland, England, Scotland or Wales. 2. Out of the Big 4 (Livepool, Man.Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal) only one player may be selected - not one player per team - ie. if you select Carra, you can not select another player from the Big 4. There have been a few ideas thrown in there aswell... it's been suggested that maybe we should be able to pick 1 non Irish/British player for your team. So if I pick Cesc Fabregas, does it mean that I can't pick another player from the Big 4? Or are we suggesting that only 1 player from the Big 4 can be selected, plus one non Irish/British player from ANY club (ie I can have Torres and Gerrard)? Again, lets get the feedback in so we can iron out all rules and make it official. I'll post an official thread when it's decided and contact all applicants who've already submitted a team.
Sounds good so far. I was thinking you can pick any Irish/English/Welsh/Scottish/NI players from any team (including top 4) and then you are allowed one non British/Irish isles player per team i.e(Torres). Or is that too easy then do ya think? Not trying to confuse things further but it would be more of a challenge to pick a team without English players, just Irish/Welsh/NI and Scottish players and then one non Irish/Scottish/Welsh/NI player per team?? Ah we'll get there in the end!
Originally i was lookin to get just an irish selection going, but when i looked at it there werent a lot of irish players available, i looked at welsh and scottish too. With the 3 combined there arent many players to choose from leaving everyone with pretty much the same team. Thats why i added the english players too. And by only selecting 1 from the Big 4 so that stevie g, lamps, and all the top players arent selected in everyones team. I was trying to make the use of the whole league, maybe even leading to some people doscovering some hidden gems from teams just promoted. I think that by only allowing one player from the Big 4 aswell as 1 non Irish/British from ANY club could be a good combination. I think you can only select a max 3 players from any club anyway. Just hoping it wont just turn out that the themed teams selected are the same as the normal teams selected. There are still plenty of excellent players available when the stars from the Big 4 are taken out of the equation.
Yeah thats fine your way sounds good mate. To clarify then its one British/Irish player from top 4 teams and 1 non-Irish/British from any club? So Torres and Carra would be a-ok but then nobody else foreign or from the top 4? That should ensure a variety of team selections and hopefully give people the chance to unearth a few "snips". But why on Earth are you including "Lamps" AKA The Cookie Monster as big stars, unless of course your referring to his weight!
Yep thats the one alright.... 1. All players must be Irish, English, Scottish or Welsh 2. Only 1 player from the Big 4 (or max 2, depending on how you use rule 3) 3. Only 1 non Irish/British player from ANY team (including Big 4) So it is possible to have 2 players from the Big 4, 1 must be Irish/British and the other must be foreign. I'll post it properly on a new thread so that everyone knows the final decisions. And maybe I felt sorry for Lamps - dont ask me why... a school-boy error.
