Laptop Dropping Wireless Signal

    hi all

    when my friend turns on his laptop he has wireless internet for a few mins and then it drops and he has to reboot the laptop to getback on and then it happens again

    it aint the router as it happens where ever he is , ie at home , my place , friends etc

    he has vista on it

    any ideas ???

    as ive similar lapop and no probs

    I would say it is the wireless network but with it dropping out anywhere he is the Networking components for his wireless adaptor inside the laptop are probably screwed.

    Setup of wireless connection between his laptop and router when he installed broadband software (is it Eircom?) may not have been followed through successfully/failed - sounds like possible authentication problem or wireless signal too weak (check hes not too far away from router!)

    Stupid as this sounds ...

    Tell him to delete all his cookies and Temp folders, then reboot ... anything ?
