Hi All Can anyone help me with a problem we had with Ryanair on monday night. We were due to Leave Bergamo Airport at 21.00 on monday night and due to fog the flight was cancelled. When we went to the customer service desk at bergamo they offered flights out on thusday which we took, otherwise, the next available flight was sunday. We had no option but to travel into Milan and book into hotel for 2 nights at a cost of €520.00. We then got a flight home with Aer Lingus at a cost of €221.00 arriving home yesterday afternoon can we claim from ryanair or are we screwed??
Afraid you have no case. The delay was due to an 'Act of God' as they call it. They only have to book you onto an alternative flight which they did. The perils of flying with tramps. As long as all goes smooth and you avoid their scams on booking you should be alright but if anything goes wrong you're screwed and they have taken the words 'service, complimentary, nice and help' out of their training manuals. Pitfalls. You pay the price and take your chance unfortunately. Very unlucky.
Typical! I expected nothing else from that shower!! Ah well had a ball, great extra couple of days piss up!! Although paying for it now, i'm wrecked!!
woah an act of god!?!?!? now who's god would that be? i read about a case in the states where someone turned a case over in his favour due to the act of god excuse.....dont ask me to find it though
happened to myself over in birmingham back in october, sunday night flight home cancelled due to fog, next flight ryanair were putting us on was on thursday, ended up staying the night and flying out of east midlads the next day but i was lucky didnt cost too much extra, aer lingus had cancelled there flight aswell and thay didnt do much more for there passengers just put them on the next flight they had spaces on.
Hah - act of God eh? I deal a lot with Ryanair at work, and the attitude of some of their high level staff give the impression that "act of God" is the equivalent of "Act of Ryanair" So I guess they can bend that one however they want... However aer lingus aren't much better
i was on a ryanair flight 12 months ago and it got cancelled due to fog, offered a flight next day but got the boat home, sent a letter to ryanair and about a month later they gave a full refund
Just found out from the Lads that they have offered to refund cost of flights and are looking into the cost of hotel and see what they can do! Sounds promising!!
