    Hiya mate

I've dropped you a PM, was over there just a couple of months ago and may be able to offer some help etc.

    - lots to pick from but depends primarily on how much you want to spend etc.

I think they know they will sell out for this weekend. They are looking for nearly $1800 for 4 nights.
All the rates are jumping.Marathon is on and the place will be packed.

    Thanks for the tips lads.

40,000 runners, and families for starters with over million spectators gives you an idea of the demand and hence the price.

Try www.1800hotels.ie, for marathon weekend in November they have basic enough hotels for around €700 for four nights near central park

All been well ,yes. Meant to be the best one out there.Popularity of these big events is growing. There will be about 130,000 applicants with a limit of 40,000 places. The place goes haywire for it.Trying to compete in the big 5 (Berlin,London,Chicago,Boston and NY) before the knees pack up or I get sense, Whichever happens first.:)

Thats a Dump!! If you book over the phone insist on floor 11, as these are great rooms, othrerwise they try to stick you into a room with no curtains, filty carpet, dirty bed linen, they tried this with me last year and i was put in room on floor 11, and the room was top class.

    Hi Mara,

Theres a hotel just off times square called the Quality inn, times square. Great location, 20yrds from times square. Rooms good quality and cheap, great pub next door Pig & Whistle great food.(although think they have new one themselves now).

We stay here most times when were over and can't complain about it.

Have checked this one, nearly $1500 for the 4 nights, take flights, transport etc and believe it or not it will end up been a lot cheaper doing it through an operator whom I know has good accomadation. All these places seem to be doubling and trebling their tariffs for this weekend.

Try the Milford Plazza hotel (think thats what its called) on the opposite side of times square. Have never stayed there but also great location.

You can also try www.thetraveldepartment.ie they do great package trips, that include sight seeing tours and all, and usually run for 4/5 nights between €700 - €900 which is not bad and this price includes all transfers etc. Keep an eye on the site because sometimes the throw up cheap deals every now and then. Try these in june or july as they add on as year goes on.

Try get somewhere from 40th street up as not too far from central park.
