anyone else here affected by the slump in construction in cork city/county.......christ i have only done bout a months work since november.......................
I don't work in the construction industry but have friends who do and they've been out of work for the past four or so weeks. It's a cut and trust business. But let's face it, it'll be w long time until the construction industry is as strong as it was say three or so years ago. It had to end sometime. It's a tough industry to be part of right now. I hope you find something in the very near future mate.
cheers...im self employed and at our busiest had 10 working for us now we have no one...dont want this to be a racist comment in any capacity.but if he "non nationals" had never been left in we would be still up the walls
Its pretty much the same up in the North here, very slow at the minute and i have been outta work myself since November.
work Yeah this year construction is meant to take a big hit, alot of my mates are in that area and most of them had to go to england after xmass where work there in all areas is flowing. I am not racist either and i welcome the people comming from there countries but 2 things i am sick of is foreigners comming up to our house begging for money and yet they are claiming social welfare and i am sick of going into a shop of any kind and asking for something and the guy/girl hasnt a clue what you are saying.
aer lingus tradesmen....i gaurentee we will be fixing there shite workmanship for years to come....i agree wit ya,if they cant do the job(properly)then they should not be given the job....my attitude is look after your own... is the uk busy...might be venturing meself....is liverpool busykill 2 birds wit 1 stone
Travelled through a lot of streets in Liverpool at the weekend by bus, taxi and foot and it appears to be one big building site. Saw the signs for one area and there appears to be 43 acres of shops, apartments etc being built pretty much in city centre.
might give hicks a tinkle and ask when do they start ripping up stanley parkwas in san fran for a few years and just settled bak here now, bought a house etc...really didnt plan on upin sticks again, wouldnt mind liverpool for a while, love the city and anfield twice a month how bad
self employed carpenter myself, things arent too bad not been out of work thank god but at thes ame time i havnt been getting anything that is breaking the bank just ticking by really,it doesnt look too good at all.
Work Liverpool is flying with work at the moment due to the city of culture. Alot of construction there with alot of buildings and apartments going up, yeah london is busy to and will have alot of work in all areas comming up. Work in all areas in ireland looks like it has slowed up, but i hear it is just for a year r maybe 2, they think it will pick up, hope so.
a mate of mine moved over to london a few weeks ago (blocklayer) he's just waiting on some papers to start work but got a few cash job's to keep him going
just looking around gumtree in the london section usually when ya see adds on that it means theres work in the area hence why when ya look on it at dublin or cork it just full of people looking for work i thought ya looked there for jobs not the other way around.
