Well after the great result last night, what will Rafa do this weekend? He should just go with same XI in my opinion. However I would not be suprised to see Riise, Alonso, Pennant and Crouch in the line up.

The next five league games are all very winnable and could put us in the driving seat for 4th. Boro (H), Bolton (A), West Ham (H), Newcastle (H) and Reading (H)

15 points out of 15 required as the next few after that are very tasty....

United (A), Everton (H) and Arsenal (A).

He very rarely goes with the same 11 - i'd expect alonso back, kuyt and torres up top and 2 of kewell, peanut and yossi. Hope Skertl's back 2. If we dont beat these clowns u can throw ure hat at it. 3-0 and the confidence grows

I'd like to see Riise back in there against boro to give them some more pressure on the attack ... xabi as well ... how about Torres and Crouch up front?

I think he will go for crouch and torres up front, with alonso & gerrard in the middle, resting masch. Back to back good preformances with a few goals would do us wonders.

We have one game a week for the next 3 saturdays so id expect full strength each of the next 2 saturdays barring injuries. id like to see crouchie start ahead of kuyt for this one, with yossi and babel on the wings and skrtel and carra at the back. gerrard and mascherano in the middle.

Lee Mason is the ref for this one. This is his his 4th time in charge of Liverpool game and all 3 previous matches have all ended 0-0.
This season he was the ref for our home game against Birmingham. Lets hope that changes.

Carragher is suspended for this so I reckon Arbeloa will play CB with Sami as Skrtel will prob not be rushed back

Reina, Finna, Arbeloa, Hyppia, Auroelio, Pennant, Gerrard, Masherano, Babel, Kuyt, Torres

Should be a good enough team to beat Boro at home

Only change from Inter game being Arbeloa takes over from the suspended Carragher, Alonso must be finding it hard now I'd say.

Reina, Finnan, Aurelio, Arbeloa, Hyypia, Mascherano, Gerrard, Babel, Lucas, Kuyt, Torres. Subs: Martin, Skrtel, Crouch, Riise, Benayoun.

Thought Lucas looked really tired and a little bit lost in the last 20 mins. Reckon Rafa should have taken him off and let stevie drop back into midfield. Good 3 points but we rode our luck at times

Happy we won that. Lol arbeloa at cb scares me. Agree that Lucas looked tired.. got beaten too easy and gave the ball away alot during the last 20.

Masch, Torres and hyppia had great games.

Great hat trick by Torres, I thought Gerrard and the defence (aside from Hyypia) were below par today. Kuyt I feel is getting his confidence back. Lucas and Babel getting games is good for them even if Lucas didnt play all too well today. Mascherano again was immense, did he touch aliadiaire or just hold his hand in front of his face. The Setanta camera angle wasn't really conclusive.

A good win in the end, a bit dodgy at the back, but I suppose that's to be expected with Agger, Skrtel and Carragher all out.*

I thought Finnan was poor at times, again.* Maybe Arbeloa should get a run at right back. Saying Lucas was tired is being kind to him.* I thought he was poor today, poor first touch on several occasions.*

Torres, pure class again. Nice to see him staying on his feet for the first and the second from outside the box was quality.

I cant understand how people are posting on an internet site when the game is actually on? Surley you should be concentrating on the game...just my opinon, FT was super today, not a brilliant performance but who cares, 3 points is 3 points.

the 3 points were crucial, thank christ for torres.
but the display made me uneasy, though i must admit ive been uneasy with a lot of our games this season.(obviously)

Have to say from sitting 4rows from the front in annie road it was a exciting match to watch,
definately agree that lucas should have been substituted he was very sloppy and made to many mistakes, feel reina was at fault for their 2nd goal he came out very early.
think skertal would have done a much better job than Arbeloa did, we more a less fell apart when they got past mid-field with the ball. must say tho torres is a legend, masc did a fantastic job as per usual, dont understand why he made a substitution in the last minute.
the atmosphere wasnt to bad and the boro fans were great craic altho some of their chants a little odd anywho was a good match to go to.

Absolutecl class performance from Torres - thank Christ we have him cos a crap boro side would've beaten us out the gate without him. His hattrick masks another woeful performance. I didnt think our passing could get any worse...but i was wrong again. Everyone was guilty of it - esp gerrard. The system he's playing now (and vows to play til the end of the season) is calamitous. I wont criticise the defending coz that'll be ok when carra and skertl are back, but kuyt out right is hopeless adn turtle-esque when running after a pass - he MUST be wearing concrete underpants to run that slow - he makes the simplest of touches seem like excruciating hard work.
Lucas was awful - difficult to watch him actually - played like a spare appendix, i'e serves absolutely no function. He's too weak anyway, yossi's stronger than him. How u can keep alonso on the bench playing a formation ideally suited to him is beyond me.
The only positive was the hattrick (love this el nino lad, real world class quality) but torres needs to be surrounded by better quality than there is there at the moment or his form'll drop too.
I agree with picking the same team consecutively - but jaysus pick the right players. Ive a bad feeling kuyt'll b playing a lotta games which worried me immensely.
I'm happy with the win - but also watched the arse and scum games - to say different planets would b an understatement. Kuyt and yossi out wide or ronaldo or hleb - ah hell.....

2 defensive midfielders and 1 up front at home to Boro?

We got away with it on Saturday. As badman said, the passing was terrible. There was 5 minutes before Torres 1st goal that we didnt string 3 passes together, it was brutal. 2 of our goals were gifted to us & if Tuncay had decided to use his head instead of his arm things would have been a lot different.

Torres's brilliance masked over another poor performance. Did we create more than 5 chances in the game (two created for us by Boro), other than the 2 goals all I can recall is Lucas header & Gerrards free kick at the end.

I thought Gerrard was terrible also, passing was very poor, attitiude when he lost the ball was lousy also. Defensively, when you have your 3rd & 4th choice centre backs playing theres always going to be dodgy moments.

Going on this evidence if Torres picks up another injury before the end of the season, getting 4th will be a huge ask.
