http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/mediawatch/drilldown/MW11597070712-1126.htm Goodluck to him,got alot of abuse by "fans" this last season despite what he did in Istanbul.
Best of luck to him ... He did fine for us, given the limited resources of the time & we should all try and remember him for the good days, rather than the few bad ones
Liked him a lot. Did far more good than bad and Istanbul was enough to make up for anything anway. Best of luck JD
Good luck to him, he'll go down in the history books for that save. Think he's a bit mad to go and play understudy to casillas but its a big club so be hard to turn down
In his first season he was brilliant, but he never really recovered from the howlers against Man U and Forlan. Will be forever remembered for Istanbul, Good Luck Jerzy!!!
Good Luck to him and we should always pay respect to him,not just because he played for Liverpool but because of what he did in Istanbul and really won us the champions league...
Thanks for the memories. Met him down Albert Dock a couple of months after the CL victory, All I could say was thanks, he was cool.
Best of luck Jerzy, I'll never forget you in Istanbul, when I was dead level with both posts during the shootout, and you were standing about 28 feet in front of them by the time the spot kick was taken
Anyone that played in that final is a legend of the club already, but he was the one who made it happen in the end. Best of luck
Best of luck to Jerzy but why do the same thing he was doing for the last 2 seasons at Anfield doesn't make sense
I dont think Rafa had the confidence in him as a back up keeper anymore, and on the Arsenal games he was probably right, he wasnt offered a new contract and so he didnt have an option of staying. Therefore he takes the best offer he gets. Im delighted for him, after being at the best club in the world he can se what its like at the 2nd best, and enjoy the sun while he's at it.
I'll always remember him for 2 things. The first "that" save in the dying moments of extra time in Istanbul were I was dead level with the 6 yard box and absolutely convinced Schevchenko would score. How it stayed out I will never know but he saved it and should be remembered for same. Unfortunately the 2nd will be for a goal he let in late on earlier on in that season at home to Portsmouth were I think Josemi had come on with about a minute to go to waste time. Josemi got beaten "easily" and Portsmouth scored as I remember direct from a cross come shot. I blamed both of them at the time equally and still do but he will be remembered for Istanbul forever in my mind.......
