    RIP

I moved to Artane a couple of years back, shortly after the 25th anniversary, I couldn't believe it when I saw the families protesting every evening. Unbelievable the lack of respect shown by the Butterly family, re-opening the pub on the 25th anniversary.

This website is worth a look. Interesting to read about Butterly family's links to FF. Might explain how this whole affair got brushed under the carpet.

Giving my age away here, but I can remember well when it happened. The most shocking thing was the reports that the emergency exits were chained shut.
And to think nobody has spent a day in jail - there's no justice there.

    Very sad.

Can't help but wonder if this tragedy happened in one of the more affluent areas of Dublin would it have been treated differently in the aftermath??

    F%%king Fianna Fáillers again

I was in the mater hosptal the next morring (I had an accident in work and was getting x-rays) and seen some parents looking for their children, the look of anguish on their faces was heartbraking I really felt for them.

    Tragic.

As far as I know the only person who was ever appeared in court in connection with this tragedy was Christy. He was sued for libel over the song. If I'm not mistaking the song is still banned from radio.
