Had few probs with CD Wow so stay away from them.
when looking for a DVD I'd normally check ebay first and then compare price with Play.com

ah play is a bit expensive.

I'm actually looking for the wire season 1. It was 24 euros on amazon but out of stock and they dont have it in hmv here (typical)

play.com seem a good enough but i am using a 3v card..only have 35 left and its 36 euros..lol

Hi Lads & Ladies

Eh, does no one pay any attention to the links in my autosignature ?

www.rpoints.ie

....

Rpoints is like a shopping portal, it's entirely legit and free to join, use etc. It's based around a discussion forum just like this one & yours truely is an Administrator there so I'll give you a hand if your having problems on the site ...

Here's the good bit:

- There's tips on various sites offering bargins, such as special offers / sales, discount codes etc for just about every well established online DVD retailer etc (also much more) ...

- It works a bit like Pigsback but is far better because (i) there are lots more offers & (ii) it gives you cash back on your purchases !

Here's an example of how it works ..

1. Sign up to Rpoints & log on ...

2. See a bargin advertised for say, a sale at CDWoW.com offering something like say The Sopranos Season 6 for €15 & you want to buy it.

3. Click on the link for CDWoW at Rpoints .. it redirects you to CDWoW where you buy your DVD just like anywhere online

4. Rpoints gets a small commission from CDWoW for directing you to the CDWoW site and you buying something there. This commission is shared with you when received.

5. Important to note is that you do not pay one single cent more by using this method than if you went straight to (say) CDWoW directly yourself. The CDWoW business, or any other linked to Rpoints share their profits, with Rpoints in turn sharing with you ... so your' getting a discount in effect.

6. Rpoints has an online statement system where you can see your "Rpoints" being acredited each time you buy something online, via the Rpoints site. Rpoints tell you how many "Rpoints" you will get on each purchase etc. Whenever you want, you can cash out your "Rpoints" and have them converted straight into cash (for transfer to a UK bank, PayPal etc, or converted into vouchers for online shops we all know & use regularly). 1 Rpoints equals 1 cent in practical terms.

7. Easy to begin, just click on the link in my autosignature where it says "Save Cash Everyday ....." below and sign up.

8. Anyone having problems on Rpoints after registering, simply drop me a Private Message on Rpoints and I'll help out - my username there is: Garrett@RPoints

Enjoy ! ;)

Lads try dvdpacific.com. Absolute dirt cheap, they charge for postage but you can get 2 new release dvd and standard postage for under €30. Postage takes about 3 weeks though.
TV box sets are usually all under €30 as well

its worth pointing out that they only sell region 1 dvds and may not work on some dvd players here. Although most are multi region and multi region codes are available.

Discount Vouchers - Play.com

Play have just redesigned part of their website and are offering everyone a 2 quid discount as a result.

Just stick in the discount code: NEWPLAY08 (all capitals) and you've saved yourself 2 squid .. not sure how long the offer will last though.

CDWoW continue to rip us off - overcharging on Euro prices for products (sample includes The Unit, Season 3 DVD (R2) where there was a circa €12 price hike, if we purchase in Euro .....

Take your business elsewhere everyone & pass it on - rip off gits !

I have an account with cdwow and play and I havent purchased anything off cdwow since last christmas when getting cds/dvds for my sisters. I like play.com, every so often there is a new deal like 3 for 21 euro or something on dvds and you will find a few you like or look interested so I tend to go with play.com for dvds.

My sisters gave me a list of cds/dvds they like so when I was comparing prices on them all I noticed that OneRepublic - Dreaming Out Loud album is 15.99 on cdwow and only 6.99 on play.com, thats 9 euro more on cdwow and both are free shipping! Thats unreal, Garrett said it 'rip off gits'!

Lads just came across this site on another football forum. Not sure is it safe or what, but its ridiculously cheap. (Note: It's an American site, so they're probably Region 1)

Edit: Seems far too dodgy on closer inspection, dont want anyone getting done outta money

Have used sendit.com on occasion. They can be competitive at times.

Dont forget ebay you mabe need to be patient to get super bargain but
overall prices are good even with shipping costs.
My advice is always shop around shops,on the net doesnt matter you can
find bargains everywhere.

Hi

This sites are quite handy for checking prices (R2s in particular) ...

http://www.find-dvd.co.uk/

Then just use either Pigsback or Rpoints to get some extra dosh off, we'll earned in points to convert to vouchers / cash anyway.

As it stands at the moment, just about every online website I've checked recently is taking advantage of the Exchange Rates (CDWow being one of the worst offenders I've seen to date !)

... so buy in GBP£ lads (your credit card company will convert at much better FX rates)

Got the Wire Season 1 and 2 for 9.99 each at CD Bang. Perfect, originals arrived, but be warned it did take up to a month. If you can afford to wait for DVDs you will get a good deal there
