Hello to all my fellow reds. Yep, as you can see I'm a newbie, stright out of the rapping paper today ( so be gentle) . I came across this site by chance the other day while I was browsing on the offical site, where I've been posting for a couple of years, a post by mottoman (he might have a different name in here ) caught my eye, the title was FAO Irish reds, it had the link to here, as I never knew this site exsisted I decided to click on the link and here I am (so you can blame mottoman) Just so you can get to know me a little bit better I'll tell you a bit about myself, well first of all I'm a Dub, originaly from Crumlin and now living in Lucan, I'm married with five children (all mad Liverpool supporters) as you can see I brought them up properly, the wife is also a big reds fan and there's no problems in our house when the football comes on the telly (that's why I let her marry me, the lucky woman) I have one granson and guess what, yes an other red I first started supporting Liverpool at about twelve years old when I wached the 1965 FA Cup final on a small black and white telly with a snowy screen and crackly reseptiion in my friends house as we had no telly at the time ( things were really bad back then)and we could,nt afford one, my mate and all his brothers followed Leeds so I decided to go for Liverpool just to be different no other reason, I don't remember too much about the match now, Liverpool won 2-1 but what stuck in my mind was after the reds recieved he cup and were doing thier lap of honour, the great man himself walked onto the pitch with his two arms raised into the air and a red scraf around his neck (just like the statue outside the Kop) the crowd were singing Skankley, Shankley, Shankley, and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, I was awe struck, you just knew that this man was special and I was hooked from that moment on I've been to Anfield on many occasions in my time and I try to go at least a couple of times each seasion, but it's getting harder and harder to get tickets since that night in may, I have some great memories and some not so great, the worse ones are Heysel and Hillsborough (justice for the 96) and the best was istanbul, what a night that was, that memory will be with me forever, I don't distinguish between any race, creed,or colour countryman or townie thier all reds to me and I looking forward to making many new friends in here and maybe finding some old ones again PS Pam I only found about that meeting of the supporters today it' a pitty I missed it as I would have loved to joined, please let me know when its' open for membership again if you would so kind.
