didn't See all of the Citeh Game today but the bits i did See i thought he was outstanding. he's still gorrit!
Watched the whole game he came off near the end but the man is just a legend....his performance today was typical of the man.
Very good performance but he was lucky not to be booked imo. Was delighted with the result. Was watching the game with my bro whos a manc so couldn't express my delight or he'd disown me...but I can say It now I know it keeps city near us but sure I know we'll be above them come end of the season.
Didi is a legend, and knows his football was it the last world cup when he was one of the top tipsters.
He just gets on with the job, a complete professional. How old is he now? 34-35... no signs of ageing in the legs yet, he was all over the park.
top player, mate of mine met him in Chibuku in Lpool, Didi asked him for a smoke, they sat, chatted and smoked marlboro lights all night, me mate said he was off to a party in Smithdown road and invited Didi. They shared a taxi over with a crackin young one
IMHO he was let go too early, possibly due to the prospect of Momo after his 1st season with us when he looked excellent. How times change eh....Didi still goin strong and Momo unable to realise we play in RED, maybe stripes will be easier to pick out in Italy. Good luck Momo lid (If not for the performance in the 2006 FA Cup Final) But Didi was a different class.
the kaiser.....that was some shot he had on sunday!!!!! still, i dont think we let him go to early at all......
As I've said I think Didi is a legend and he can still read the game but he's struggling to put in 90 minutes at times and was taken off early again on Sunday. We didn't let him go early, he's not good enough to be in a team going for the title. I know at the moment we're not a team going for the title, but that's what we were aiming for when we let him go and that's what we need to be aiming for.
He's deffo got a place in our History . Respected by players and fans. I think he was a player who got better with age , very clever and just a pity his legs went (a little). Regarding letting him go , from what I remember it was out of respect that Rafa let him go , as he was told that he would not feature as much the following season and was given the option of going somewhere that he would get more games ,or staying with us as cover .
Deserves it -------------------- Dietmar Hamann has put pen-to-paper on a new one-year deal at Manchester City. The German midfielder has enjoyed an excellent campaign and has proved to manager Sven Goran Eriksson he is deserving of fresh terms. Hamann rolled back the years at the weekend as his controlled display in the middle of the park helped City to a derby day success at Old Trafford.
its no surprise that some of our best days from the last 10 years have been when didi was playing midfield for us, an excellant player
Brilliant player for us. Was sad to see him go. He was outstanding on Sunday. Glad to see Sven rewarding him with new contract.
