Well after slagging off Dirt Kuyt and Vorinin the last few weeks, I got my reward last night. I was playing a match and closed down the keeper and managed to block down the clearance. From about a foot from the line I blasted the ball as hard as I could into the net..... or not.... it wacked of the post and out. To make matters worse, I then scored an og bout 10 mins later. NOt as bad as ronnie rosental v villa. I was there as a young chap in the holt end, when ronnie hit the ball off teh crossbar from 10 yards out and no one in goals. Least no one saw you, ronnies was in front of 40000 + camera's and those terrible footballs worst miss tv programs
Remember John O'Shea missing from 1 yard out at back post against City witht he last kick of the game when losing. Think he just about missed the ball completely.
What about Kanu's for west brom a couple of years ago. Somehow he managed to get it over the bar from about half a yard out
I cant remember who it was but wasnt there a guy some years back against San Marino I think it was in the middle of the goal about a foot and a half out with no keeper and the ball came right to his foot and he hit it over, the most impossible miss ever. He was substituted straight after and the manager said that he did it because he was being effected mentally by the miss. Think the team won 10 or 11 nil. I'll try and hunt it down on youtube and post it but perhaps someone else remembers it Thought I found it. I think rosenthal's was worse but giggs versus arsenal in the cup was hilarious..even more so when they went on to lose(i think).. it can happen to the best of us though..not me obviously
