Cant wait til i get out of this bloody country for a week on the 11 Aug, nothing like the Spanish sun, plus there'll be Prem games on in the bars by that time, and even a midweek CL qualifier.

The weather was perfect yesterday for a great day of sea fishing off Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo. 10 of us chartered a boat for the day. We were out from 9:30 to 5:30. We must of caught at least 400 fish. My deep freeze was full last night. The cost was €65 each for boat rods and bait. Every muscle in my body ached today but it was well worth it now I am just about to watch yesterday's game.

http://www.tribune.ie/news/home-news/article/2009/mar/15/fine-summer-ahead-with-september-a-scorcher/

It seems that the guy I posted on above, Ken Ring, got it mostly right for June, July and August - see below

http://www.independent.ie/national-news/maverick-forecaster-ken-was-right-as-rain-1867623.html

The good news is that he predicts that "September will be the warmest and most summery month for all, with the best of summer weather being between 6 and 17 for the whole country."

Looks like it could be a wet weekend, Flood warning in place:

http://www.rte.ie/news/2010/1105/flooding.html

There are fears that flooding may occur in both the east and west of the country over the weekend because of high tides and storm force winds.

Flood alerts have been issued in Dublin and Galway, while emergency services are being put on standby in Waterford.

Motorists and property owners have been warned that the situation is likely to be at its most serious on Sunday and Monday.

Met Éireann says an active weather system is heading for the Irish coast.

It says the system will move across the country on Sunday night and Monday with the potential for some severe gales or storm force winds.

AA Roadwatch has advised motorists to slow down and be aware that cross winds may cause hazardous conditions.

Due to the potential for heavy rain coupled with high tides, there is also a risk of flooding along all coasts.

Dublin City Council has also issued a flooding notice for the capital warning about winds of up to 100km/h.

Temporary defences against rising waters are being erected.

The Council says local road closures may also be required and these will be identified as the high winds near the coast.

It says car parks on the seafront at Clontarf and Sandymount will be closed from Sunday until Monday evening and motorists have been advised not to park their cars in these areas.

Shop owners in low lying areas of Galway city have been busy through out the morning putting sand bags and other flood defences in place around their premises.

The city council has warned that the first risk of flooding will occur at high tide at 4pm.

Council workers have been distributing sandbags and putting barriers in place in the area between the Spanish Arch and the Claddagh.

Snowing from 00:15 till about 04/05:00am this morning, the aircoach got stuck up the vevay and a car that crossed the rail tracks started to slide at the Hibernian and went straight down and crashed into the wall! Very dangerous conditions out there.

I am sure after all the chaos last year, the department of transport will be well prepared.... oh wait didn't they say earlier in the year, it was a once in 40 year event, so they are well prepared for 2050. Over the weekend there was no gritting in a lot of the country because there was/is no overtime available. Yet more incompetance by the shower of absolute of gobshites running this country.

Funnyily enough yesterday I was coming from a bit of dinner in the Orchard when these squad of about 6 young young lads were walking by with snowballs. I came onto the M50 at bray and it was much better today than yesterday mate. Yesterday coming up towards Cherrywood you could see the snow/ice stuck to the road and the tyre marke to stay within (know what I mean?) today it was all sludge on the side of the road.

Yesterday driving down from Sandyford on the M50 was grand, it was like a normal wet day on the M50 ... not slippy at all.

Flakin snow down here now, good decision to head mate. gonna be fun journey home from work today

Yeah was keeping an eye on the weather today, that road out of the hotel was lethal! Had the car in first and it still went out of control going down the hill at the last part before the main road..........brown stains all round!

Thats where I work, in Sandyford, Microsoft,. Thought it would have been mental,. So ive had 2 days off,. Are any of the roads bad getting there?

Nope mate - I head in the back of leopardstown race course and past microsoft - I have a deal with the Dunnes carpark for 2.50 a day so I do the same route as you id say?

The roads were all a-ok today, bar the leopardstown exit/side road yesterday, it was great fun tough - you know the road Im on about - has ramps every 100 yards? I was in the wife's car ... there was no cars on that strech of road, by chance, around at 8am so I was pulling hand breakers all over the place - great craic!!

Driving home at 12.30 from CityWest to Sandyford last night wasn't fun. Car slid across the road as soon as I came out of the car park and even on the M50 the back end was sliding around a bit.

If you had a snow plough you'd be a millionaire over the past few days..

I dont know about the weather mate but if your staying - grab a room at the Stillorgan Park - stones throw from your work and they do a nice pint of guinness too. N11 gritted all the way to Cabinettly!!

Or better still - head to the horse and hound, get your dinner and a skin full of pints - walk across the road, start lashing snow balls at the garda station and when they come out - deck the garda - you'll have a free room for the night PLUS you're only, what, 200, 300 yards from work in the morning .... happy days!

Today wasnt as much fun cos it wasnt as slippy and there were cars around so I wouldnt take the piss ... but it was deadly, in both sences of the term, yesterday :)

The boss rings to see how the roads are. I say I'm staying in Meath cos they're lethal(fishtailing all over the road, in a line of traffic doing 30'kph, stopped for 10 mis cos a pick up got stranded sideways across the road etc etc)

He kinda groans and says he thinks "they're making a mountain out of a mole hill"'

Unbelievable

Your some chancer, I was able to get from trim to kinnegad this morning back to trim then up to Dublin for work, hope the pints were nice down in lenihans haha
