Action starts at 8pm, iv really got in to this game this year and it aint as bad as i though.
Any way fixtures are
AFC Championship Game
San Diego Chargers@ New England Patriots
NFC Championship Game
New York Giants @ Green Bay Packers
Patriots are 17 - 0 for the season and are trying to become the first ever team to win the league 19 win-0 loss.
I think patriots will beat the chargers (even though everyone hate the patriots because of spy allegations), other game hard to call, giants wer good last week but this game depends on the weather in green bay for me - snow and cold id go green bay, normal condisions im going Giants.
Any one else staying up late to watch this
I actually got hooked on this game last year, it was a great way to pass away a Sunday night.
I reckon its a given that the Patriots are going to the Superbowl, the other game is a tough one to call. I reckon you could be spot on there Aido with the weather conditions, they'll have a big bearing. But if I had to call it now, I reckon the Giants defensive record will see them through.

Im a big fan of the NFL and wouldnt be surprised if the Chargers beat the Patriots tonight although very hard to do on the road and Tom Brady has been on fire this season.
The other game is a tight one and imo it will come down to how well Brett Favre does, Green bay have been a revelation this season and i think they can just sneek it.
Chargers +14.5pts on handicap 5/6
Green Bay 4/6
Thats my double for tonight for an interest.:D
Btw, should this thread not be titled "Conference Championship Finals" as opposed to "NFL Semi Finals"
: pedantic smiley:

used to love it when they did the highlights show on channel 4 when I was younger. Lost interest in it then.. find it hard to watch it now.
might give the matches a watch tonight though

Big fan, Hope its a Giants Patriots Superbowl line up.
Patriots will deffo make it, Giants more of an outsider.
At least the Chargers are giving the Patriots some sort of contest in the game I get to see. No hope I'll be staying up to see the Giants at Packers later tonight!

As your resident American corespondant ...
You're right on that, it can be a great game ... but it's a 60 minute game which, due to clock stoppages and commercial time-outs, takes at least 3 hours to broadcast! So frustrating! And the season only lasts about 4-5 months with only 16-19 games played by each team.
The real issue I have with American football is with many of the fans I encounter; the "anti-soccer" crowd in the U.S. consists mostly of die-hard American football fans who see football (i.e. soccer) as a threat to 'their' game ... it's viewed as a "sissy sport" or a "commie sport" ... they have no respect for the flow of the beautiful game nor for the buildup to the goal.
I had someone tell me a few weeks ago that "soccer players aren't real athletes". This is the mentality of ignorance that I have to deal with here almost daily.

Hahaha very true ... and real athletes can also run for 90 minutes, AND play both offense and defense ...
