Currently have Sky Sports but noticed at the wend that 'Pool were on Setanta followed by the Dubs live.. So got to think I might change..does anyone else have Setanta..what else do you get...is it any good? Thanks
The coverage is ok, not as fancy as Sky with all their flashy pointless stastistics but any commentating where I dont have to listen to Andy Gray is a good thing, plus you get the LFC channel as part of the package. Fat Dolan is a bit annoying who does the Saturday games but unlike the likes of Dunphy does at least put forward his own solutions, mostly crap, but better than Dunphys get rid of everyone broken record. For 20 bills a month I think its better value than Sky and they also show more Pool games too.
If you're mainly a football fan and you want to cut costs, keep Sky sports 1 which does most of the Premiership games and add Setanta for €20 a month.
Sky still have all the really BIG games... however in Ireland, you get the 3.00pm games which is a massive bonus. although Liverpool have been f***in shite on setanta. Reading, Middlesboro, Blackburn, Birmingham and even Wigan
Dont care once i can see the match and thankfully like the majority on here i form my own opinion on games so i dont have to listen to Andy Blue or Fat Dolan.
Is it cheaper, if you drop the other Sky Sports channels and just keep Sky Sports 1 ? - thought with their "packages" you had to take all sports channels now ? Thanks
Hi Yeah i had sky sports and it was ok until i moved house and decided to go down a different route. Seriously mate(i dont work for these btw),but theres this thing called DigitAlb.Its amazing,I havent MISSED a pool game all season !! It has 5 channels,when theres no matches on,2 of them are solely for football only.Other 3 are mixture between Extreme Sports,Tennis,Boxing etc + the milan/inter/lazio/juve club channel with them showing actual live games and highlights.Any box office stuff e.g the mayweather vs hatton fight was on live. During the weekend or champo league tuesday/wednesday ALL 5 channels show live games all at 12 or 3 and they show french live games sumtimes at 5 or 6 and 7 or 8 o clock its the spanish football.Bit of german football and south american thrown in there. Also heard the SuperBowl will be shown on it also so happy dayz! Btw this set me back...(wait for it...!) 620euro!! Yes yes i know its steep but that is because i was new to the satellite thing and had to buy new dish,box,cable etc.You obviously wont ever need to buy that again and i had to buy the Card which was 120euro but i have it subscribed for a year and its the only other thing i need to renew at the end of the year. Obviously that was the Sports card i bought,you can buy the kiddies,movie,adult(wahey!) cards also. Only downside was that any non-premiership matches are in albanian.Some are,some arent. setanta have been impressive but its handy to have the 2 of them. the only thing bad about the 2 they don,t show pool matches every week live. so d other gms iv to watch on d net . i got setanta in and got the movies of cause they show the same movies every 2 days nearly its crap and mtv music channals of the digital cause u can download music of d net anyway so why pay to watch crap mtv and d other gamy channals on digital. . its also not cheap. so 1s iv the sports channals im happy
i signed up for setanta sports last week and im happy enough €20 a month on top of the €20/month to basic sky
Setanta is better value with the LFC Channel and they do show LFC a fair bit and part of their sales pitch when they were advertising it was that they would show most of ours, the Mancs, Chavs and Arsenals games that Sky werent showing and have pretty much followed through on that, and as they are focused on these 4 sides (their main audience) it means that we dont suffer from Sky ignoring any club not involved in the run in in the later stages of the season like they always do with us.
Even more good news for all of us who have Setanta...all UFC events will be shown live from the US...
