I think this summer coming could be the most important transfer window for liverpool in years. We need to get the right players in to improve our squad all around the field. But before we go out and buy, i think its very important kenny sets out the formation and style of football he wants to play firstly and then get the players in to suit that. This season i dont think anyone knew what system we were playing or who was our best 11. We will have a possible 10 plus extra games this season maybe with the europa league so a big squad is important.
A striker, right winger, box to box centre mid and a 2nd left back is needed i think. Roll on the gossip columns but i think our budget will be alot smaller than last summer.

Would love to see us go for Adam Johnson. Big money i'd imagine because of his contract extension.

Yeh I'd like us to go for him. In todays Mirror it says Mancini is getting rid of him anyway so might not cost as much if City want rid.

I'd guess Adam will go for £10m but I'd expect wages will be £80k+

That's a bit confusing, for a second I thought you were talking about Charlie Adam :D

But yeah Adams Johnson wont be sold imo, Citeh will need him for the homegrown quota and the 6+5 rule if that's ever brought in. Citeh can afford to stockpile talent.

I'd guess they will bring in another 2 wingers pushing the likes of Milner and Adam further down the pecking order
And can only name 25 in their squad plus I'd say if wingers come in then Adam will want out

Its down to the player. He'll want much more game time than Citeh could ever give him so glimmer of hope there if he wants to be ambitious.

Id imagine Newcastle might be interested in him as well. He might fancy moving back to the north east. With some luck though he is settled in the north west and he fancies a move to us and Kenny fancies him.

I'd be happy if we only signed a right winger! I think we can make do with what we have in most positions but we do not have a right winger! If we got in a top signing in that position I'd be fairly satisfied!

Covered at centre half with three good options and Carra.

Covered at full back with Enrique, Agger and Johnson all capable of playing quite well there.

Right full is tricky with just Johnson at the required level but Kelly will hopefully get there.

Centre mid we have an couple of options and barring another terrible injury we shouldn't be short there. Gerrard, Lucas, Shelvey, Henderson & Adam

    Left wing....Downing, Maxi

Right wing.....No real option unless Gerrard would move back there, think he's a fantastic option out there but leaves a lot of work for Johnson.

    Strikers....Suarez, Carroll, Bellers!

If we went into next season with that squad we would finish out of the top 4 again without a doubt. Would love to see the like of downing and carroll getting more consecutive games next season. Dont think downing started more than 3.4 games in a row which is a joke for a player trying to settle into a new team. Right winger a must and not a striker/winger like kuyt or bellamy, drives me mad that. Actually haven't a clue who we will buy this summer for a change.

Think Maxi and Kuyt are locks to go, think Bellers might move on too. I cant see FSG's plans allowing for a squad member theyre only going to get 2-3 out of every 5 games from.
Dont get me wrong, I hope he DOES stay, just cant see it.
Cole and Aquilani will go too. Obviously they werent part of the squad this season and as such wont be missed, but if the other 3 do move on, it leaves a lot of holes in the squad.

Backup keeper to put pressure on Pepe.
    Wide right player
Depending on KK's thoughts on Downing now, we might be looking to cover the left too.
Striker - maybe two depending on who leaves.

We all know the players we'd love in an ideal world, but frankly I havent a clue who we will be looking at as even with my most rose tinted glasses on, we're not going to be getting the Cavani's/Falcao/Hazards of this world unless one of them has a secret Liverbird tattoo on his chest.

We need a few players thats for sure. But if the likes of Henderson, Shelvey, Carroll, Kelly, Sterling can continue to develop well we have 5 very good young players there.

We also have Lucas to come back into the team although there is no guarantees he will be at the level he was before the injury. Personally I think he will be better but thats my opinion.

I highly doubt we will be missing Luis Suarez for 9 games of the season at one of the most crucial periods.

And I'd like to think that Steven Gerrard will be managed well and won't be on the treatment table for half a season.

I also don't think we will hit the woodwork as many times and miss a record 7 penalties in one season.

All hypothetical I know but I'm sure you get the point.

They say the league table doesn't lie well I'd beg to differ, we have beaten Everton 3 times this season and they are ahead of us at the moment.

Big Summer ahead and if we get it right we might be ok season.

Be interested in how much there is to spend.
To be honest I'd focus on signing big name players even if that meant signing just one.
Then sell and buy smartly for some smaller signings.

I wouldn't spread the budget on a bag of lolli pops

Kelly is at the required level already IMO and maxi is probably going to go in the summer.

for me Adam Johnson would be a class signing and as someone already said he should be made priority. we need a left full and maybe left winger depending on how confident daglish is of having sterling step up to become a regular sub. I'd keep Bellamy as a rotation player and buy one more striker. maybe a cm midfielder too.

hoillett would be a good signing but maybe wouldn't be a starter for me more of an impact sub. Rodallega i wouldn't go near

Glad to see a lot of people calling for Adam Johnson because I think he's exactly the kind of player we should be looking at, and it looks like city could move for Hazzard so you never know! other then that, we defiantly need a right winger and there's a few other viable options for that position, I don't think we need another list. other then that we need a center forward that can get us a few goals. even if Carroll does come good, we'll still need another one because we don't have much in the line of back up or match changers, and id imagine during the summer we'll some leaving as well. id be happy with that to be honest, but if we want to be greedy (and lets face it, we do) id take another holding/ defensive midfielder, some one in the Martienez or (other, other) Suarez mold would be ideal. as for out going, id say maxi, Kuyt, and johnson, aswell as moving them on and making space, id say their on some hefty coins, so it could free up a bit of cash aswell. hopfuly Adam is geting home sick as well, but i won't get my hopes up

I can see a max of three signings happening with a few offloads to make the books balance . I really want quality over quantity and thats the way i think we will do business now . I would say that we have the spine and now we need the quality to make the rest of the body so to speak . So lets hope the King pulls a rabbit out of his hat and delivers 3 great signings .
