Just wondering what you think of it? We've got Eircom at the moment and get a max speed of 4mb while UPC are offering 25-50mb speeds so we are thinking about switching..obviously faster is better but wondering if anyone has had problems with it?
I'm in bray as well mate, best thing I ever done was swap eircom for UPC. Never had a problem with it.
UPC is the best broadband provider, I think I upgraded to fibre power, can't remember but defo go for it
Had Wimaxx 4 meg and moved to UPC in Feb. It's so much better. I have sky player on xbox and it's like watching it on sky satellite box. With 4 meg it was like streaming on PC. No complaints at all with UPC. Seemed have really tightened up since NTL days.
No problems with it, but its not as good as it used to be. We got "upgraded" from 25mb to 35mb with the switch. We used to receive 20-23mb a sec constantly, downloads were capped at 1.5mb a sec, but you could have multiple users getting that. We now get 4mbs on downloads, but streaming is gone to shit, to watch most things I have to leave it load for about 20mins before I can start. Liveonlinefooty is a dream though. However our speed when doing the test was max 17mb, usually 13mb though, and at peak times it can get fairly pudgey. Its defo better than Vodafone though, and I've had no problems with it.
Dont know if this deal is still on but if you signed up for broadband in pc world or currys you got €250 voucher for them. Worth checking out. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056562729
Its not fibre powered Broadband. There is only one company in Ireland who are doing Fibre Powered Broadband. And there is only one place where i know you can get it and thats in the Beacon Hotel. Any way ive UPC in terenure, and its fantastic. Can't recommend it highly enough. Streaming is perfect for me, and also downloading isnt a issue.
Made the move from eircom to UP a couple of years ago, never had a prob its the best broadband you can get in the country.
Hope much is your package..? On my package I get a few digital channels,I don't even have the UPC box turned on as I also have Sky.
How does that work? Also no-ones replied about the time frame so I'll ask again if anyone knows how long it takes for them to come out after ordering?
You self install it, have to pay for someone to come out and do it for you, You get the equipment within 48 hours and it takes 10min to set up Just picked up my €250 voucher from the Carphone warehouse
yes I think everyone starts on a years contract and if you take an upgrade at any stage then your signed up for a further 12 months
upc are snakes, rang me start of the week offering to upgrade my 30mb broadband to 100mb for free and new modem for free. got the new box today and was told id have to ring up to get the 100mb, then they wanted me to pay for the extra mb's denying that was the deal. we only have the other modem less than a year so we didnt need it replaced so the only reason we accepted new one was for modem. *****
