Atlas Shrugged - Ayn Rand (just finished) The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand The Age of Turbulance - Alan Greenspan Brave New World - Aldous Huxley Murdered by Mumia - Maureen Faulkner (story of a Philly cop who was murdered by Mumia abu Jamal. Mumia was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and has unfortunely become the poster child of injustice ... the evidence proves otherwise. Co-authored by the police officer's widow)
Yeah, great book. I've read a few others of Philip K Dick's books as well and it's good stuff. If you liked that, the original book of I am Legend is good as well, also a bit short, you'd read it in one or two sittings. Not like the movie much at all. Read "The Book Thief" recently which was good, about a kid in Nazi Germany. Also Nick Hornby's HIgh Fidelity is a good laugh and Fever Pitch of course, even if he is a gooner.
Must say, i'm only getting back into reading now since a library opened up across the way from work - used to read loads up to when i left college but ful time job, commete, football, kid etc means i dont get as much chance now. just finished reading the 6th book iof the 7 in the Dark Tower series, strictly 4 stephen king fans - i was a big fan as a kid so just couldnt resist. Currently reading eric schlosser's Fast Food Nation - heavy going but excellent. Recently enough i reas a few crackers - Vernon God Little by Pierre - absolutely hilarious stuff, a gem of a book. Also 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night' is a cracker - and on the slightly darker side 'we have to talk about Kevin' which is a fabulous read - almost made me think twice about havin kids - scary and excellently written. Any further suggestions are appreciated - nearly finished this book
Love the ross o carroll kelly stuff. Quality. Otherwise Terry Pratchet when I was younger. The Flan O Brien books were amazing. Kurt Vonneget, class.
Stalingrad, by antony beevor was very good. Hand of God, the life of diego maradona by jimmy burns. Road trip to hell, chris hughes. Walk alone, by craig johnston. (us oldies remember him)
and went bankrupt, Addidas shafted him,his own words. top man he was, retired from liverpool at 28 to look after his sister who was in a coma.1988 i think was made offers by other clubs, but he wouldnt take them up, saying "when you play, and win trophies for Liverpool, pulling on another clubs shirt is never the same" returned to liverpool immediately after hillsborough, and preceded to raise thousands of pounds for those affected by the tragedy. not many left like him.
I used to read loads but gone quite lazy when it comes to reading these days. Started George Orwells 1984 a couple of months ago and I'm on like Chapter 3 or something Have read all of Ross O'Carroll Kelly's books and they're hilarious. Would highly recommend them. They're so easy to read as well, ya fly through them
