Can ye keep all ye're correspondence/flirting/macho sh*te in here please lads, you've been ruining the Off Topic Thread for weeks. Thanks
haha. quality paddser. Ive been expecting Shay to arrive at one of our golf outings all bronzed up, looking like he;s rubbed Barry white all over himself, like those bodybuilders
hahahhahaa your some boyo paddser!! Edit: I gave it a good name for ye so you and the gays can be left alone in your off topic thread
Just back from the gym and was on the treadmill watching Dr Phil. This couple on and the guy was a bodybuilder. Does an 8 hour day at work and then 4 hours in the gym. Spends 1000 dollars a month on membership, spray tans, supplements etc. and now wants to spend 5 grand they don't have on laser hair removal. Sitting there telling his missus how she's let herself go(she's had three kids he obviously never sees)and wondering how they've ended up on Dr Phil. I know it can become an addiction for some people but the guy was just a knobhead. What sort of money are lads spending on getting fit and does it cut into your family time? Wasn't going to gay up the thread with a story from Dr Phil but saw a picture of two bronzed up guys covered in baby oil and concluded that ship had sailed.
I have myself and the wife and the 2 kids on my gym memebership for about 100 quid a month. I go to the gym 7 days a week first thing in the morn, she goes 4 times a week in the evenings. Its about 1.5 hours total session. And we bring the kids swimming 3 times a week.It doesnt eat into your family time at all. And we share the sunbed time.....and there goes all my credibilty
Good stuff. Sounds like one fit(and tanned) family. Great to have the whole family involved. My missus wouldn't really be into gyms but I only go two or three times a week and I work shifts so it's generally in the morning while the kids are in crèche or after work where I'd get home for about 3 anyway. I'm not saying that people who use gyms after work are not spending enough time with their families by the way. Everyone is perfectly entitled to time for themselves. I was talking about the more extreme element of bodybuilding in terms of time and cost. That guy I saw on the Telly just got me thinking about it. But I suppose it's like anything else in that there's always people who take it too far. On the back of the jobs keep fit initiative a couple of us liaised between the gym in the IFSC and human resources and a deal was sorted where we get a years membership for 200 euros and the job pays it up front and takes it out of your wages at around 4 euros a week. Dead handy to do an hours workout before or after work. I wish it was handy to be a bit more disciplined with what I eat.
Some lads take it way too far, especially the bodybuilding types.Giving up hours and hours for the perfect phsique.A healthy house is a happy house we say The 6 year old gets a great kick of coming up to the gym with me the odd time, bangs away his Taekwando kicks and punches on the heavy bag. And i would like to say im not on the sunbeds that often,a few mins here and there Eating is the killer because you can never outtrain a bad diet.Im out tomorrow night and it will be first night of either sugar or wheat in 3 months and i cant fcuking wait. Thats a really great deal at 4 euros a week.
3 months without wheat or sugar! I struggle to go a day without bread. Fair fcuks to you. I try and eat relatively healthy during the week,no fried foods, take aways, sugary drinks etc. but I'd be a liar if I said I stuck to it all the time. At the weekends though, anything goes. I love me few beers and if ive a hangover I eat absolutely atrociously. But I can definitely feel myself getting fitter. I'm running for longer and beating my times by the week. 4 euros a week is a great deal. It doesn't have a pool or open weekends though.
Ah its a great feeling geting better every week or having personal best's beaten all the time. Yeah i have been living on the Paelo/Caveman diet.Myself and the missus being doing it....if it isnt fresh you dont eat it. Hard to begin with but oyu see the benefits health wise very quickly.
Do the gym most days but i didnt warm up at all before i did the threadmill 2 weeks ago and went and jogged away, straight after i noticed a pain on my tighs and legs but just thought it would go away but its still at me. Today was the first time i was alone with a women in a room, striiped to my boxers and paid her over 50 euro and still didnt get any. But on a serious note had to go to the sports physio this morning and get it checked out, pelvis was out of position and my quads where bruised and it was working all along down my leg , got a massage and have to go back again tuesday. Never again will i under estimate the importance of warming up, really miss going to the gym to, used to jog just about 6 miles a day and ill have to start from day 1 when i finally get back in a couple of weeks. They say every week you spend not working out and in the gym you loose 2 weeks of your fitness so im defo back to square one.
I'm about Minus 40 years of age in fitness years so. Heading out for a pint now to celebrate. Gonna have toast and something with wheat in it when I get back in later, and 4 spoons of sugar in me tea. Get it right up yis!
