    Barney McKenna of The Dubliners has died today,at the age of 72.
    Fantastic banjo player,his solo play was loved all over the world.
    A piece of irish music has died,RIP Barney.

    Gutted to hear that. RIP Barney.

    He is involved in the "Rocky road To Poland" song to be released as the official anthem for the Irish team at the Euros. A fitting tribute to the man...

    Just heard this now, terrible news. An absolute genius on the banjo. I was lucky enough to see him play live on many occasions. Only one of the original Dubliners left now. RIP

    Gutted when heard this news. Remember seeing the Dubliners in the Gaiety for the Luke Kelly 20th Anniversary few years back, one of best gigs I was ever at.

    Since then Ronnie and now Barney have passed on
