Does anyone know when tickets and details of the service are likely to be announced? It was this time last year when tickets were available on phoneline, but when I phoned they just said nothing had been announced and only advice was to just keep checking club website. (sorry if there is somewhere else this should be posted, but am sure mods will move if needed)
At the start of the season I said I was going to go over to the service this year. But have to admit the price of travel has defeated me. With the Grand National on there is no value out there and I have looked at all airports within a 100 miles radius.
Thanks, but not able to go myself either now. Thought we would have car to drive up after staying at Wembley on saturday night and then fly home to Belfast from there, but plans changed, so no car. Then checked out the trains, and couldn`t believe how much they cost, added to more expensive flights from Liverpool than from London. Just couldn`t afford it all so unfortunately it`s a no go, for this year anyway.
Supporters who are unable to attend the Hillsborough Memorial Service on Sunday will be able to pay their respects to the 96 in the heart of Liverpool city centre. The Anfield service will take place on April 15 and will be shown live on LFC TV and LFC TV Online, with coverage getting underway at 2.30pm. For those who cannot make the service, a tribute message to the 96 will be displayed on the screen of the Media Wall opposite Lime Street station at 3.06pm. For the second year running, the screen, one of the largest of its kind in Europe, will display a message of remembrance which is timed to coincide with the minute's silence being held at the Anfield memorial service.
It was a very moving memorial service. All lfc team, management backroom staff supporters from all round the world came watched and listened to the wonderful words which came from the heart from all the speakers at the serice. Full credit is deserved to all the organisers of this event who will never let the world forget the 96 innocent people who went to watch a football match and never came home. Hopefully 2012 will be the year we all see justice for all the Hillsborough victims. You are gone but never forgotten. YNWA
