I have an Irish oral this weekend and we were told to get on TG4 and check out some of the programmes to get the ear used to the language again. http://www.tg4.ie/en/tg4-player/tg4-player.html I had a look at the TG4 player and have to say I was blown away with one drama in particular, Corp + Anam. Some of the acting is top drawer and it's very well made and filmed. Its all in Irish too (with english subtitles). The first episode is as good if not better than Love/Hate or any drama I have seen on RTE in a long time. Check it out if you get a chance it is about ruthless journalist, Cathal Mac IarnaĆn. Looking forward to the next episodes now in the series, there are 4 on the player. No idea if its helping my Gaeilge though but it's keeping me from proper study if nothing else. Does anybody ever bother watching TG4 or does secondary school put everyone off Irish for life?
Watched a series they had about guys involved in the Easter rising and a bit of GAA Beo on a sunday but thats about it..
Seems to be good for Irish history and documentaries alright. I'm watching a documentary on the Aran Islands at the minute. You couldn't even do the leaving cert on one of the islands up until a few years ago so the islands were losing a lot of population to the mainland. Back on the increase again now though supposedly now you can sit the Leaving on the island.
