Any of you guys familiar with getting Tax Back with P60 forms?

Im havent a clue on this stuff... thank God Jens studying accountancy

Is it as simple as just sending a copy of your P60 to the Revenue and they process? Theres no forms?

I use taxback.com and was very happy with them to be honest. They take a % of your money back but because of this they squeeze as much as they can from the revenue.I got 400 back this year :)

You can do it online Justy, no point giving any sites a cut, as they make you fll out all the details anyway.

Send off your P60 to the Revenue, along with a P21 form, and they will send you back a check. Also you will need to just write a little letter stating, that you wish to received any tax bace that is owed from overpayment, and ask them to send any health levy refund that is applicable.

Just remmember last when you apply for tax back what you actually get is a tax audit which means you can end up owing them money.

print a form12 from the revenue site. complete and send with your p60.

if you're single and had one job in 2011, it's unlikely you'll be owed money, unless you have medical receipts or bin charges or rent allowance etc.

once they process it, they issue a p21. I just read someone above saying to send one in. that's not the case.

if you earned under 32,800, it's easy to calculate from the p60 if you've overpaid.

take total income (Box A on p60), multiply it by 20%.

check top right for your tax credits, approx 3300...take this from the figure calculated above.

compare to the tax deducted in Box B. if it's higher on the p60, you're owed the difference!

when you earn more than the above, it gets slightly trickier. but still easy enough.

I'm not even sure you need to send anything in tbh, if your not self employed then you can just ring and ask for a balancing statement. I've done it before with no hassle

but apply for it yourself because redoak want commission, be careful if you think you might owe though.

can i just say please dont use the tax back sites that take a cut theyre as bad as the travel touts.you can register with revenue and a couple of clicks gets your p21 and your health expenses and bins etc sorted without you giving someone a cut of whats your own.

Get an Accountant to do it for you. This stuff is far too complicated to do yourself. Nazzy why are you taking food from my table giving out free advice?

I'm taking food from my own too so! maybe we should establish IK tax advice?! :)

I do hate to see the standard claims for bins and medical costing people money. anything slightly meatier, fair enough! ill Charge by the hour! (I can already predict D-red's response to THAT statement!!) ;-)
