As reds we've seen how social media can bring down corrupt regimes so take a look at this. I personally never thought the emails I was sending to banks and blue chip companies would do much but ultimately it made a difference. This guy is on a different playing field to G&H so watch the video and spread the word. http://s3.amazonaws.com/kony2012/kony-4.html
Saw this on Twitter. Hard to believe this type of stuff goes on in the world. Why aren't those great World Police Americans sending the CIA in to sort him out? Because there is nothing in it for them.
Jaysus lads this has f*ck all to do with America (I know you could argue Iraq etc wasn't either...) I would have thought Interpol should be involved.
Shocking stuff alright and fair play to the guy who started it all.Really makes you think about the lives we take for granted when most of those kids have none at all!!
Was reading up about the video..and the message behind it. This is not all its cracked up to be,a lot more to it than meets the eye it seems.
Is the message not just to make this Kony guy famous and bring down the LRA? Both do exist and they are evil. I personally don't have a whole lot of trust towards NGOs and charities so I am not interested in that side of the campaign. There will always be doubters when it comes to things like this but this Kony guy does deserve to be brought to justice so I can't see what harm they are doing. If the video struck a chord with anyone check out the film below. http://www1.zmovie.tv/movies/view/johnny-mad-dog
Yes i certainly would spread the word of this Kony lad but I certainly will not be putting my hand in my pocket for the Not for Profit Organisation that seems to be splitting there money 31% Charity 69% grattitudes. This wreeks of a scam. (He says with his Jim Corr book in hand)
I agree with you james...no doubt he deserves to be brought to justice. But i dont sign up to being one of the Sheeple, who follow its message blindly, and donates a cent to it..without finding out a little bit about invisible children. http://justiceinconflict.org/2012/03/07/taking-kony-2012-down-a-notch/ http://visiblechildren.tumblr.com/
because if Uganda had natural resources like oil, you could be full sure that the yanks would find some excuse to invade the country.
I'm with you 100% man. I just think it is amazing that social media can bring about the reaction this campaign has, similar to our own campaign in 2010. Lets face it the vast majority of us didn't know about Kony until 48 hours ago. Now people may become enlightened on the mineral wars going on in the region and everything that has happened in DRC.
agree to disagree with you Clayton but i don't see link or any validity in that claim. Iran and Syria would be long invaded with that logic.
In the tune of fresh prince of bel air In west Uganda born and raised on a battlefield is where I spent most of my days Chillin out, maxin, reloading all cool and taking some african kids outta there school When a couple of liberals started making me fret started making trouble for me on the Internet they started 1 campaign and my men demanded You're moving with your kids to a barracks in Sudan I whistled for a vehicle and when it came near, it was a school bus with armed kids in the rear If anything we coulda went to a few villages and installed fear but I thought forget yo kids we're outta here I pulled up in Sudan about 7 or 8 and I yelled to museveni "yo umad smell ya later" Looked at my army composed of all my homies Gonna sit on my throne cause I'm Joseph "motha****in" kony
this video ****ing stinks. the amount of people posting this is sickening especially when they havent a clue about uganda, the politcal situation there , or the charity group. anything thats a glossy hollywood production involving mtv and hollywood actors you can be sure is not genuine or at the very least has an underlying alternative motive for the long run. all of a sudden millions or keyboard warriors have found their moral bone just because rhianna or ****ing bono are calling for military action!!?! where were all the posts and comments about the millions of innocents slaughtered or starved or tortured to dead in iraq afgahnistan north korea burmah lybia china etc etc etc. where are all the posts or comments about the banking system raping and the wealth and future of entire nations and their own childrens future??! no where to be fcuking seen thats where. how many americans or brits or bankers were on the international criminal list by the way?!? but as soon as a few hollywood and mtv wankers are mentioned and a few people start liking and sharing about a video they havent a clue about, well thats different, we gotta invade this country and save the kids. we gotta take action! ive finally found my balls and im gonna speak up against the injustice in the world insead of posting youtube videos about kittens or footballers that i had been doing up until now while ignoring what was going on in the real world all around me. coz it wasnt cool back then. its cool now.....lets call for military action immediately!!! a very successful pysop this kony 2012 is.
I seen this guys video and i think he's bang on. Does all the right stuff in my opinion Fair play mate, keep up the good work
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...in-public.html One of the creators of the “Kony 2012” film about Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony has been arrested for allegedly being drunk and masturbating in public. Jason Russell was hospitalised so that his mental state could be assessed to establish if he represented a threat to himself or others. Jason Russell, 33, was also accused of stripping off his clothes and vandalising cars before he was detained in San Diego. Russell, an evangelical Christian, is a co-founder of the American advocacy group Invisible Children. Their 29-minute film has been watched by more than 100 million people and become the fastest spreading video ever. The San Diego Police Department said Russell was held close to the Pacific Ocean, wearing only in his underwear, on Thursday night. A spokesman said he was possibly under the influence of something, and was acting “very strangely.” Officers received several calls from members of the public about a man undressing and running through traffic while screaming. When they arrived Russell was co-operative. He was later hospitalised so that his mental state can be assessed to establish if he represents a threat to himself or others. Invisible Children chief executive Ben Keesey told TMZ: “Jason Russell was unfortunately hospitalised yesterday suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition. He is now receiving medical care and is focused on getting better. “The past two weeks have taken a severe emotional toll on all of us, Jason especially, and that toll manifested itself in an unfortunate incident yesterday. “Jason’s passion and his work have done so much to help so many, and we are devastated to see him dealing with this personal health issue. We will always love and support Jason, and we ask that you give his entire family privacy during this difficult time.” According to the group’s website Russell, a married father of two, is the co-founder and “our grand storyteller and dreamer.” The video aimed to make Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony, leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA,) “famous” for his crimes. The LRA has adbucted children and fored them to fight, in come cases making them kill their own parents. Kony is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity. But critics of the video have pointed out that Kony and the LRA are no longer active in Uganda, having fled into the Central African Republic where they are a much diminshed force. Following the first screening of the film in Uganda further showings were suspended due to negative feedback. The audience did not feel it accurately portrayed the conflict. Fcukin wanker
