    Hey lads be really thankful if anyone could help..myself and the wife are thinking of going away for a weekend with my 2 year old just to get away for a couple of days but will be taking the ferry to either england or france because she cant fly..anyhow i suggested liverpool so we can take the museum tour and such..so what im looking to know is the time it takes to get to liverpool by train from holyhead and stuff that we could do with the little lad

    The Train i get normaly takes just Under 2 hours to chester and 40mins from chester to liverpool!

    Chester Zoo is a nice little spot - and the town of Chester itself is worth a visit.

    the liverpool maritime Museum is a great spot(maybe no good for a kid doe)

    recommend a hotel in chester lads?..giving this option a good look at..maybe visit zoo one day then travel to liverpool for the next

    The Best Western Hotel accross from the train station in chester is a grand spot mate. (I Got my train time wrong one night and missed the conection to holyhead got a room for £39) its a bit outside the town doe.

    If you are thinking of staying in town, couldn't recommend the Mill Hotel highly enough, food in there was fantastic as well. Right on the canal, really picturesque place.

    cool..yeah we are thinking of going over and visit a few places then stay the night and then head to liverpool and do the same there
