Straight to tout websites as many people would of guessed! http://www.channel4.com/programmes/dispatches/4od Well worth a watch
Watched it last night on the advice of carroll9 and it was truly amazing. What a insight into the ticket scandal. But the guy who was the director of the company did say something truthful , that the law won't change. Excellent work by the channel 4.
True cant see law changing I had this row with girl in ticketmaster last year when was looking for tickets for a gig and I saw them advertised on a well known .ie online ticket agent, her response was that there was nothing they could do to stop them selling them Sickening when people sell them and have 0 interest in going to the gig
The worse thing is, there's a well know .ie tout site that is owned and run by ticketmaster themselves. That's where the problem is. The main ticket distributor in the country should be regulated.
Id imagine the guy working for Viagoo will have gotten his P45 today the amount of shit i spurted about the Company. It will never change, but some thing needs to be done.Surely when they don't get their allocation and they all log on at the same time to buy tickets with multiple credit cards, their IP address's could be blocked or something like that.
The only way to prevent these cowboys touting tickets in the absence of legislation is for people to wake up and stop fueling them. It's all about supply and demand. Last night's program was a real eye opener.
Last nights programme was great. A real insight into ticket touts. It rally not fair when people charge nearly 10 times the price of a ticket and real fans have to sit at home and cannot enjoy the experience.
Unreal the profits that where made by that crowd that they got a fella into.what were they called? go something?
I'd agree with you Eric, though in truth it's still far too much control for one party to have over the supply of tickets. Anyway, based on the way our gimps regulate anything else (i.e. gas, electricity etc) they'd roll over everytime ticketmaster wanted to shove the prices of their commission up etc, so would still be a disappointment. Not to mention, the fact that they'd all have the hand out for freebies, half of which would end up being touted too ! One thing for sure, Mr. Henry could benifit from watching that programme, along with hearing from the people who got messed about by the T/O again this time.
