On the 20 February 2012 the deputy Sheriff arrived at another Irish family's home to repossess it and give the keys to the bank in Co Laois. Thus putting another Irish family onto the streets.
It wasn't the constitution that halted the sheriff. The sheriff just saw the mob holding a load of cameras and decided to come back when the whole thing had died down. The man was spouting absolute nonsense about the law. The bank hold the title to that house. Both parties were assumably on notice and legal arguments have come before the court when the possession order was made. I hope this vid going viral doesn't give false hope to the families who are in a similar position and whom I have the deepest sympathy for. I assume the injunction and or warrant for committal of the occupants and subsequent imprisonment won't be going viral.
The sheriff will probably have your man up in court soon on a contempt of court charge . If this happens they will make an example of him to show people that they will not put up with anyone trying to stop the seizure of property .
The fella representing the sheriff hadn't got a clue. You'd think doing the job for "30" years he'd know the law inside out. Not a job I'd do for any amount of money.
