Pending on who's on the pitch at the time I'd go with in any order

    Stevie
    Kuyt
    Adam
    Hendo
    Carroll
    or even Agger

to be honest i dont think it will go that far but if it does i wouldnt be surprised if we lost it because of our woeful penos of late...it would all come down to how many pepe could save imo

Depends who is on the pitch, however Gerrard, Bellamy, Kuyt and Adam would definates. Agger is someone you would think would be handy as well

Oul Carra can hit a decent peno also. I remember him stepping up in 2001 against the Brum and I had a shit attack when I seen him but he duly dispatched it with applomb. Hopefully won't go this far as my nerves aren't up to it

    No thanks.
Love Carra to bits but if he stepped up again, you wouldnt be the only one having a shit attack.

Remember for England Carra was brought on against Portugal specifically for the shoot out as he had the nest record in training. Initially he scored but hadn’t waited for the whistle (I think) so had to retake and missed.

Down the years, I never had any fears of penalty shoot outs. Until Northampton last year, the only one I remembered them losing was against Wimbledon in a League cup tie at Selhurst Park.

Really don't want to see pens on Sunday with our record this year.

Also lost a Penalty shootout in the Asian tournament in Hong Kong but that was an un-official event. Our newly recruited top signing missed his one and only penalty he took in a Liverpool shirt.

Given that Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll and Adam have all missed penos for us this season I'd prefer not to see it go to a shootout.

If these players are all still on the pitch leading up to the shootout it'll be going through their heads beforehand.

I'm honestly not expecting the game to go next to near penos. I AM expecting a dominating performance that allows us all to thoroughly enjoy the game without biting fingernails down to our wrists.
Course I also expect to win the euromillions every week, so my expectations have very little to do with reality a lot of the time!

If it does go to penos, I wouldnt be confident at all. All those misses by so many different takers this season and Pepe hasnt saved one forever.
Used to be the case that if it went to penos we knew we'd win - wouldnt be quiet so sure atm.

lovely, just the thread i needed to see. i was happily living in bliss that if it went to pens on sunday we'd be ok because we rarely lose penalty shoot outs. bar northampton and portsmouth that time in the pre season competition i dont remember us losing a shoot out in years. although thats probably because we were better at taking penalties all those years:D

I'd have Johnson in there...only players you wouldn't let near a peno in a shootout are spearing, suarez and skrtel, rest would have decent records bar this season. I'd let Pepe take one before suarez and spearo...

T'was live on $ky :) I still suffer nightmares over the significance of five nominated kickers having to put a ball in the net from five yards. Maybe though it was the sweltering heat that day as opposed to the monsoon weather against Northampton.

The forecast for Wembley is good :D
