"The Board Gais Energy Theatre" !!!! https://www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie/ - makes you fear for the future of Anfield, don't it
I heard about this last week as one of my sisters works for Board Gais,it sounds crap. She was saying they will be doing things like the 02 were if you are a customer of theres you will get a saving on tickets and first go at them aswell.
Ah, think it's the way for the future whether we like it or not mate ... I just wish there was some sort of legislation, to prevent tacky names appearing all over the place. As mentioned earlier, I fear for the future of Anfield (or elsewhere, if we have to move)
That's an awful name, and it wont stick. People will still call it the grand canal theatre. Imagine jumping in a Joe Maxi and saying "take me to the Bord Gais Energy Theatre" ha. Tis a lovely venue though.
Its not the way of the future, its the way we should have been doing things for the last five years. If last weekend has taught us nothing you cannot seperate football and commercial interests. If it brings better players to the Club I'm opened minded as to what they can call Anfield..
I think there's a limit there somewhere mate ... nightmare of all nightmares, just imagine of manure decided to sponsor it and call it "Man U's Training Ground" for example (a bit extreme, I grant you but no doubt you take my point) Eh, the point depot and lansdown road mate ... jokes aside, I do actually. But respect the point your making. ----------------------------
Maybe it's just me, but I never called the point "the point depot", it's just been the point and it still is. Same with lansdowne road.
Nice venue but your ****ed if you get a seat right at the back, it's huge, would only go there again if I got a seat up near the top or the middle, but as for the name change,, well that's the way things are going now, I'd say in 10 years most football grounds will have there name changed, it's all about the money
10 years?? Etihad, Emirates, Sports Direct, Reebok, DW, Britannia Stadium.. Thats just off the top of my head. Sure theres plenty more down the divisions as well.
It's a quality venue and not really bothered what they call it.People will just use what they are comfortable with at the end of the day.
Personally I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. I've been in the back right corner against he wall, 3 rows from the back in the middle, at the front on the left all in the upper circle and had a better view than when i was 5 rows from the front.
Been there a couple of times and its a fantastic Venue.Ill be back there at the end of next month for Derren Brown too. Regarding the naming rights, I seen it last night, in a email i got.Interesting name, But i think its too long to catch on.
The O2 & The Aviva just roll off the tongue tho, as do the Allianz arena, reebok, emirates etc The bord gais energy theatre just doesn't seem to do that
That's a stupid name! I'll always call it grand canal theatre because of its stupid name..I call lansdowne by the Aviva and the point the o2 but the bord gais energy theatre is the stupidest name they could have thought of
Straight Swap: Anfield gets called The Standard Chartered Areana in return for Stan Chart financing the acquisition and wages of Cavani for five years ? ... hummm, Yea I think I could live with that too, to be fair mate
