This is ridiculous- don't like the chap or his brand of football. But 8 months??? The consecutive boards that have 'run' that club should hang their heads in shame. Stupid.

Poison chalice indeed. Only there 8 months and sitting in 11th in the league and he's gone. What position do they expect to be in? I don’t like his brand of football either but they never gave him a chance.

I think Sam will slot into the number one contender situation now for the Ireland job, especially considering his previous experience with Limerick...El Tel will get the boot now I reckon...

The geordies are comical they haven't won a thing in 50 years but yet they barely give managers a year(8 months for fat head)in the job, small club with a big stadium thats all they are and probably all they'll ever be.

Delighted he is gone, I dislike him a lot. As for the Ireland job, not a chance, he himself has more ambition than taking us over and he will get the next job that comes up in the Prem outside of the big four.

    Totally agreed.

He would have been a model for a club of Fulham's size..........

Maybe a Championship side.....Wolves if McCarthy gets the Ireland job......again.
