Just under 4 weeks to Cheltenham starts, so anybody off here heading over to it?

Anyone have any strong fancies/tips etc?

I don't really follow the horses during the year but come Cheltenham and Aintree I will have an aul bet.

I ran a Cheltenham Tipping Competition on here last year and will probably do the same this year if there is enough interest.

Went last year but with a busy year this year won't make it. Brilliant couple of days

Not followed horses this year at all as been taking a break from
Gambling till Cheltenham. Will though be reading all the previews and most likely pile on a treble of Big Bucks, Quevega and Hurricane Fly.

Won't be going but will be watching every minute.

Reckon Hurricane Fly & Quevega is a nailed on double

Was given word for Cinders & Ashes in the Supreme Novices, into 9/1 now from bigger than 20's.

Going throw a few bob on Mullins for top trainer.
An accum of Big Bucks, Quevega, Hurricane Fly and Sizing Europe pays around 9/1. Looks a great shout.

I CANT WAIT!! going to champion hurdle day (opening day) and staying in liverpool mon-wed.

opening day hurricane fly (champion hurdle) and quevaga (mares hurdle) wont be beat. sprinter sacre strong claims to win the arkle. really hope simonsig goes for the supreme (first race) instead of the neptune. he looked awesome today - could have won by 20 lengths if he was let off the bridle. won without breaking a sweat. between 8 to 10/1 for supreme at the min.
hold on julio at 7/1 in the handicap chase appeals as well. i cant wait to be there for the cheltenham roar again :)

in other races big bucks, sizing europe and long run (even though i really want kauto to win) should retain their crowns

edit - simonsig in to between 6-8 for supreme after todays performance

Whats the craic with commuting from Liverpool, is it far by road/rail? Done it from Bristol a few years ago. It was no bother the first day but by the third day it was torture!

So many horses nailed on, i have seen this scenario every year.... To a lot of people, Time for Rupert and CueCard were nailed on last year and look what happened them.

That said, the pick of the bunch for me are:

Sprinter Sacre for the arkle - this horse has filled out big time since last season and is unbeaten so far this season, he is the apple of nicky hendersons eye and there is more improvement to come.

Sizing Europe for the queen mother - the English challenge this year is shockingly bad. The only danger to Sizing, appears to be Big Zeb. He is a year older now and he has already hockeyed him recently.

Hurricane Fly for the champion hurdle - He basically bet far better horses last year, in menorah, peddlars cross and thousand stars. We don't know how good Zarkandar is yet, he hasn't been able to run because of the bad weather in England. But he will need to be something wayyyyyy out of the ordinary to beat this fellow. Binocular DOESN'T go well fresh and basically has to this year because of , again, bad weather in England.

Big Bucks for the world hurdle - unbeaten in something like his last 14 starts. Unreal horse, best staying hurdler of our time. However, Willie Mullins looks set to have a crack at him this year as he'll run Zaidpour and Thousand stars against him. Zaidpour bet the very smart staying mare hurdler in volar la vedette, and we know thousand stars stays the trip as he won the french champion hurdle which is over 3 miles 2 furlongs.

Quevega for the mares hurdle - just can't see another horse beat her.

I'm not going this year will be at Aintree instead but am taking the first two days off and I can't bleeding wait.

Count me in for the tipping competition again. I have to defend my title!!

Only ante poat bet I have had so far is Vulcanite EW @ 33/1 for the first race. He is due to run on Friday so I will know more after that whether I have a good bet or not.

yea its about 2.5/3hours by road (havent done rail as a mate who lives over there drives us). We have an apartment (free of charge) all to ourselves as my mates brother owns one in liverpool but is rarely there, so thats why we stay in liverpool.

Out in liverpool Monday night, suited and booted and off to the races cheltenham on tuesday. Out in liverpool tuesday night with our winnings :D and then O'neills all day Wednesday with the papers and betting slips to watch the races. Flight home on wednesday night. Die at home Thursday and friday betting on the races. St Paddies day Sat. perfect perfect week :D

todays PP special is Big Bucks, Quevega and Minsk at 18/1. gonna have a sneaky tenner on that.

been told they are expecting Minsk to hack up tomorrow and to then shorten alot for the triumph. currently 6/1

only other ante post Ive done is 20eur on Hurricane at 2/1 (from some special I got off twitter last week) and a treble on Sprinter sacre, Hurricane and quevega which when I include the free stake I got and put on too, odds are about 19/1.

I think a lot of people have that accum done. Of those I think SS and the fly could let you down. There are lots of other good horses in those races that will be primed for the festival.

i'll be absolutely shocked if the hurricane is beat, i think we are watching one of the best hurdlers ever.

Sprinter is an absolute machine of a horse but peddlers cross and al ferof arent bad around cheltenham so this could be the tightest of the 5.

big bucks should win easy, quevaga should be the easiest winner of the festival as voler la vedette is not running anymore. Sizing europe should have too much for the rest as well.

Fingers crossed cos it would be a nice we lift.

    Cheltenham Festival 2012

Not long now, maybe get a few hints from Rover, Minsk runs at Fairyhouse today (well odds on) in the 1.55, hasn't jumped a fence and yet still favorite for the Triumph hurdle at the festival, picked an anti post acca out 5 hotpots for £5 that works out about 20/1
Sprinter Sacre, Big Bucks, Hurricane Fly, Sizing Europe and Quevega, backed Minsk @ 8/1 for the Triumph for £5 also.

Get me dole on the Wednesday at the festival so here's hoping she lets me have it haha.

Got told to keep an eye out for Royal Guardsman in the champion bumper on the wednesday and Citizenship in the county hurdle on the friday - and both expected to be "decent odds" apparently.

This came from a fella who's normally fairly handy with the tips/info, but haven't had any off him in a while so god knows....
