Rangers have lodged an intention to go into administration with the Court of Session. The Ibrox club lodged the notice in Edinburgh at Monday lunchtime. They now have five days in which to formally declare administrators have taken over the running of the club. Solicitors lodged the papers with the Court of Session on behalf of the club's directors on Monday. Rangers FC are currently awaiting the result of a £49m tax case with HM Revenue and Customs in relation to the club's use of the Employee Benefits Trust to pay players and staff. The Court of Session confirmed to STV that papers confirming the intention to appoint administrators had been received. http://news.stv.tv/scotland/west-central/297387-rangers-to-go-into-administration/
Would it be playing into stereotypes if im delighted with this No longer up to their necks in fenian blood, more up to their necks in debt.
What happens now in terms of a points deduction, will they lose points and then maybe lose prize money and european qualification.
Fairly confident celtic would have won the league anyway so all this does is give the rangers fans a bit of ''well if we werent deducted......
What does this mean for Scottish football in general then. Obviously Scotland is only a 2 team league anyway and there is a possibility of rangers going bang altogether would there be enough money for the league to carry on
celtic fans shouldnt be happy about this really. celtic without rangers or rangers without celtic destroys the very little that is the spl.
On the same day that Celtic announced an increase in turnover+profit and a decrease in debt. At the same time they're still in all domestic cups and top of the league. Not bad business by them.
