This lad is at the academy and there is big things expected from him. I work with his dad and met him the other day and is a huge lad for 16. Signed a 4 year contract from crumlin untited in jan. Some of the stuff his dad has been telling me about how kenny has been personally involved with the lad is unreal. Kenny apparently is real hands on with the kids and their families and cant do enough for them. He said the treatment the family have had from liverpool meant he was only ever going to sign for them when he had his pick of clubs apparently. Daniel is currently in digs with another irish prospect alex o hanlon. Best of luck to the lad
Thats great stuff, it would be brilliant to be in touch with the King that man should be so proud of his lad.
I follow him on twitter, think Lionel does to https://twitter.com/#!/dano_1996 He has tweeted me back a few times as well, he was a bit pissed of there for a while as he was slightly injured (nothing major)but he's grand now
Alex o Hanlon is another who every other club in England wanted. Liam Brady made a huge push and Alex and his father actually stayed with Liam. But as captain morgan said,Kenny was really involved and the lad chose us. Alex is actually named after his godfather,Alex Higgins. His da was a very good snooker player and was great mates with the hurricane.
Been following him for a while now on Twitter.I really hope that everything goes well for him and hopefully someday we will see him make his 1st team debut.
Also involved in the same match I mentioned in another thread for the LFC U18's against Bury. Finished 8-4. The Irish lads were fairly anonymous in the coverage but go to see them getting their chances.
I heard Liverpool signed a young lad from Lucan for just over a million last week anyone know anymore
Came in this morning and the owner of the company told me his neighbours son was bought by us. That's him so - cheers.
Real slow news day when the Daily Star has it has the main story on the front page this morning. Just a small mention of the passing of Maeve Binchy.
LFC Transfer Speculations LFC have signed 13 year old Conor Masterson of Lucan United (Dublin). The 6ft tall teen joins LFC when he turns 16 beating off competition from United and Arsenal.
I saw this boy play at the Kennedy Cup this year. Stood out on the DDSL team along with their left winger whose name escapes me now. He played in a 3 man central midfield, quick, powerful, decent passer and scored from outside the box in the 1/4 final win over Kerry. Word was around the place during the Kennedy Cup that Liverpool were signing him with figures of €800k being mentioned.
6 foot 13 year old If he's 6 foot when he is only 13 he is going to have a big advantage strengthwise over the smaller lads in his age group who haven't grown yet. Be interesting to see how he gets on in a few years when more players in his age group have hit their growth spurts. Best of luck to the lad anyway and fair play for choosing Liverpool over other big clubs.
Personally I'd have went to city for big money, and then informed Liverpool I'm going to play a stinker to get City to release me and then join Liverpool for free. That or go to Arsenal and be guaranteed game time in the cups. Could be waiting a lifetime at Liverpool if your not a scouser.
I don't get why we have to pay such large fees for a player who has no contract, he can sign for the likes Crumlin or St Kevins for free at any given time Is the money mentioned for him and his family and not Lucan Utd? Best of luck to the lad but I can't see how any kid can keep their feet on the ground when they have just been set up for life at the age of 13.
