Fabio Capello has resigned. The Football Association can confirm that Fabio Capello has today resigned as England Manager. This follows a meeting involving FA Chairman David Bernstein, FA General Secretary Alex Horne and Fabio Capello at Wembley Stadium. The discussions focused on The FA Board’s decision to remove the England team captaincy from John Terry, and Fabio Capello’s response through an Italian broadcast interview. In a meeting for over an hour, Fabio’s resignation was accepted and he will leave the post of England Manager with immediate effect. David Bernstein said: “I would like to stress that during today’s meeting and throughout his time as England Manager, Fabio has conducted himself in an extremely professional manner. We have accepted Fabio’s resignation, agreeing this is the right decision. We would like to thank Fabio for his work with the England team and wish him every success in the future.” A media conference with David Bernstein and the Club England Management team will take place at Wembley on Thursday at 12 noon. The FA will not be making any further comment until the media conference.
I say fair play to him, he has standards, theFA should never have interfered in the John Terry affair. Maybe 'Arry will take the job now and we'll see how good he is when he's got no money to spend.
at least in a few months i wont have to listen to people saying my teamnever beat spurs under harry redknapp (i know its not true but its popular belief) everyone will remember my team beating a arry managed team in the quarter final of the euros
I don't think that he had any choice really.I wonder will Arry leave Spurs to take up the job before the end of the season.Apparently Stuart Pearce could be appointed in an interim position.Press conference tomorrow so we will know more then.
they have another excuse for collapsing in a tourney now! Fair play to him, he feels the FA undermined him and has had enough.
Wow, Shocked by this. The man stuck to his principals whether they are right or wrong regarding that Mong Terry. I wonder will they approach Arry, and ask him to do a dual role.
Always got the impression that he couldn't be arsed with managing England. Met him the night we played Roma and he seemed to be a decent bloke not suited to managing a bunch of scrotes.
So whether Harry takes the post now or not that means there is 2 possibilities for that ****k maureen
For England, or the Spurs job, though Willie ? - I'd bet he'd take either one, if he got the chance at one of them. England could obviously use him with his win record, while Spurs would give him the chance to complete in the CL, compete locally with Chelski and try to rub the Russian's nose in it etc etc. ----------------------------- ... I'm not at all suprissed that Capello has resigned, he was gone either way after the Euros imho, so he probably reckoned fuk it - quit now and save a bit of face, get a little personal satisfaction by putting the English FA in a bit of a bind etc.
