I need to decide this week on which school im going to send my daughter too. We have 3 choices.

Natioanl School, GaelScoil or Educate together.

Has anyone got any comments advise on GaelScoil or Educate together, Im hearing good things about both, but cant make up my mind. Was at an open night in the GaelScoil tonight and was very impressed by there ethic on teaching/learning.

    Thanks.

I always thought a Gaelscoil would be great. Gives children a huge advantage with their Irish when it comes to Secondary School, and I know I personally would love to be fluent Irish, which I'm far from after all those years "learning" it. If you don't speak it, you'll never learn it imo.

Was in an Irish school from junior infants, I'd really recommend it, Irish was a really tough subject for anyone I know who went to any other school and I got an A in it without too much effort because of going through and all Irish school.

Yeah the gaelscoiles are always a good option gives the kid a headstart going into secondary. Also the Gaelscoils get loads of funding so they are stacked full of resources and resource teachers for all subjects too.

My family have a long tradition of gaelscoils, my grandmother founded 3 of them one in finglas, ballymun and cabra. From being in them all through my education I can assure you they ate by far the best schools in the country, they always tend to be smaller and very interactive.

My daughter will be going to the one in cabra without a moments hesitation. I strongly endorse them as the best option mate.

If a kid is attending a gaelscoil, personally I think there should be a reasonable amount of Gaeilge spoken at home to help/support/encourage them.
