Peeps a friend of mine whom I also work with is moving to London. I want to give her something that will come in handy so I'm thinking of making her a personal book with the top 10 restaurants pubs clubs etc and also shops bit of cockmey slang and the underground.

She might never use it but it will be a nice keepsake if nothing else.

Now comes the tricky part. I've no idea how to get it all together into book format ( Do I just use powerpoint ) and I want to add in pictures too.

Then once it's together I want to print it and maybe get it bound? If this is possible. I've been googling it all but all i keep getting is info on childrens personalised books :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure it's a graphic designer persay you need for this, but if you want the details of a freelancer I know pm me (I've paid him to do logo design recently, absolutely diamond bloke and so reasonably priced I have no idea how it's worth his while). On the actual binding I have no idea I'm afraid Lilly.

Hmm I was hoping I could do the design and making part myself perhaps just get a few points about formating it.
The binding is actually the hard part but I'll def keep it in mind if I can't do it myself :)

Powerpoint would be the best for this imo...

Just print the slides on a 1/2 per page kind of thing... and bring it to any stationary shop... they can bind it for you it's usually around 2-3 euro is all...

I do some work in Photoshop so if you needed something done up I could lend a hand...

I think you're right Lilly - that's why I said I wasn't sure it was a graphic designer you need (you have the text, you have the graphics/photos - it's just a case of putting it all together). Unfortunately, on that note, I'm not sure of the best approach.

Lol really I'm looking for an easy solution like a book template or something I suppose. I found out we have graphic designers in here and they haven't been able to shed much light on it either.

I'll keep googling the templates thing.

Some old book stores, or printing shops, may do hardback binding for you

Blurb do books were you just input the images and they do the rest. Not sure about cost or time.

    Sorry :)

If you go into MS Word, and select new, and then click templates, there are a few that might help??

You can print out of Word in book format too, so it prints and arranges all of the pages too in booklet format?

Lol yeah I did try that but there is nothing of any use on the ones in work although we are on office 2007 I think.

I'll try mine one at home and see if I can get anything better

yeah i had a look at theirs but it's more for photos and you can't print it out you have to buy the book from them.

    Sorry if I'm sounding negative.

I'm not even sure what I want is available. Damn me and my stupid ideas
