a twitter account claiming to be him has tweeted the following: I will be a #LFC player by the end of the transfer window, talks over the weekend went well. #Rovers wouldn't offer me what I wanted and: for all of you that are asking, it is #LFC - One man sold it. Dalglish, cannot wait to play under him #roverslegend #theking thoughts?
LFCInsiderPT PT #LFC bid for Hoilett accepted after a transfer request, 6m. #LFC have also approached Palermo for Abel Hernandez. ???
Would be very surprised if we got him that cheap in Jan reckon this is More BS Could be wrong though im just extremely sceptical at this time of year
Apparently Spurs are favourites to sign him. This is the first time I have even heard us linked with him
Didnt realise that could be true so but i will remain sceptical until i see him with kenny and the jersey
I'd say spurs will get him , but he has more chance getting a game with us than at spurs Spurs can offer champions league more convincing than us at present
never been wowed by him tbh - looks quick and direct but i dont see buckets of goals or creativity with him really...ok he's prob better than downing but how much better. i'd be happy enough to get him but wouldnt lose any sleep if spers got him...kinda like another lennon i reckon
Blackburn Rovers have rejected a transfer request from Junior Hoilett as Tottenham and Liverpool both continue to circle. The wantaway winger was left out of Saturday's FA Cup defeat to Newcastle United with both Spurs and the Reds actively pursuing his signature during this month's window. Steve Kean's decision to omit Hoilett is understood to centre around his submission of a written transfer request to Ewood Park chiefs on the eve of the game. Harry Redknapp remains in the box seat to secure the 21-year-old's signature with a £7million offer as he looks to offload Niko Kranjcar. He has spoken glowingly of the Canadian attacker despite insisting that the high-flying Spurs have not made any enquiries to the Lancashire outfit about his availability. Liverpool, however, have been in discussions with both Blackburn and Hoilett's representatives in the previous weeks regarding the possibility of a move. North West counterparts Bolton Wanderers have also emerged as possible contenders but are likely to be priced out of a move in addition to being one of Blackburn's relegation rivals. Blackburn are said to be holding out for £8million to reduce their debts and strengthen their squad ahead of a testing season run-in which will determine their Premier League status. Kean conceded last week that they are willing to listen to offers but his rejection of Hoilett's request reaffirmed prevous comments that the struggling club would be prepared to allow his current contract to tick down, running the risk of seeing him leave on a free transfer this summer, Hoilett has been one of a few stand-out performers during Blackburn's battle for top flight survival this season with beleagured manager Kean still under intense heat from fans. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
would be a good signing i think, good competition fo downing, might help him try and improve his peformances and a good prospect on the books.
I'd love to see him with the squad, and not just because he is Canadian! He is quick and quite skilled and gave us some problems when they last visited. I think Kean will want a player along with the cash as Blackburn are still deep in the relegation zone and will have a battle on their hands.
