If anyone has been to Disneyland Paris could they offer some advice. How much spending money would be required for 2adults and 2 kids for 3 nights,4 days. What type of money saving tips have you. What rides etc are best for 3 year olds and then an almost 7 year old. Thanks Folks.
Was there last year just me and the girlfriend... went in February so it was freezing cold... but I enjoyed it... literally no queues due to the time of year. In terms of expenses, it's not too bad... there's a few restaurants across from the park, there's a massive american style diner and it's reasonable on the price and the food was nice... Space mountain is a good one, not sure on height restrictions though... the younger one will probably love the Disney parade and the train that goes all around the park. There's a toy story thing I think for the younger ones too... which is pretty cool... and also the 4D cinema thing... Can't really remember much more from the trip... With regards to money, I think between the two of us we managed to spend around €400 in the 3-4 days we were there... that was just food, drink and travel... we did a good bit around paris... Eiffel tower and all that crap...
We went 2 years ago, with 6 adults and 5 kids, aged 9,7,3,2 and a special needs boy of 4. Most if not all of the hotels do a buffet style breakfast, make sure everyone gets a good breakie into them before heading to the park. Eating in there is expensive, and to be honest I didnt find the food of a high quality when we DID eat in there. A lot of the food is themed and I'd advise anyone to avoid the mexican style cafe opposite the Q point for "Big thunder mountain". Food was awful (general consensus - not just mine). They operate a system in the park for the rides that you can either get in to the Q or go to a ticket dispenser and get a ticket for the ride for a predetermined time - usually 45 minutes ahead. If you do the rounds and get your tickets ahead of time you can then go back around and get on the rides a lot quicker in the long run. Now the tickets dont entitle you to get straight on the ride, but there are actually two lines for every ride, and the pre tickets one DOES move quicker. Getting tickets for Big thunder mountain is an absolute must. Lines for that one are usually massive. Younger kids with us loved the Teacups, Carousel and the Cars ride and Peter Pan ride Everyone loved Big thunder mountain and the Nemo ride. The adults (yeah right) among us went on Space mountain on our own the first time and screamed like little girls for the entire trip. The "Small world" boat ride is an absolute must for anyone going to Disneyland. Most of the rides have points where you will be photographed and you can buy them at a booth when you get off - avoid those if you value your money, and remember the kids are going to see these pictures after every ride, so forewarn them that mammy and daddy wont be buying every picture with them in it. Alot of the fun there is the parades that go off regularly during the day, the lids will love seeing all the characters singing and dancing with the crowds. Just a note for anyone bringing a special needs child, you register that they're there at the post office in the park and they get their special pass, which allows them to jump the line and get straight on anything - which I thought was brilliant. Also means they get to meet all the characters who will be dotted around the park for pictures (complete with q's) straight off with no waiting. Probably edit this later as more and more of it comes back to me.
Make sure if you want to go the city centre get the train its the cheapest way into the city , get the 3 day rail in the park there is a free bus that brings you there , we usually got the train to ru obeur stop think i spelt it right its the most central we could find , most of the things in the park are cheap enough but the disney merchandise is expensive , word of advice dont get a taxi back to the park if your in the city centre it'll cost a fortune happened us got lost cost us €80 If ye get lost take note of the train station and get a taxi there it will cost 5 euro tops me and the missus brought 450 quid each for 3 days that was well enough even with the €80 taxi
http://www.disboards.com/ There is a lot of advise on this forum. I agree 100% with you on the food, expensive, crap quality. Even buying a coke was expensive as are all the goodies the kids want. My final bit of advice, save more money and go to Florida, warmer, cheaper, more amazing Disneyland and better fun. Greater shopping there too.
Depends what you are doing if you are doing only disney the small ones under 7 stay and play for free if you book into a park hotel they are not to bad. When we were there peter pan and small world and carousel were favorite you can fass pass a ride but you can only do one at a time. We used to get breakfast and a few extra rolls and make up the filling with meat and salad this would do for lunch and then buy a dinner at the evening. We flew into beaniveax and got a train to cdg and the bus out to the park. The kids really enjoyed it the night parades and early passes were brilliant. It is 4 years since we were there it might have changed a bit since then. The disney charatures used walk around after the parades and there was plenty of oppertunities to get photos. excuss the spelling Cheers mate
More memories.... The riverboat ride was good, and not much of a line to get on it any time we passed it. Most of the kids were google eyed seeing the dinosaur bones in the "cliffside" on it. (This big kid included) The hotels DO actually save you money staying there I thought as, along with the buffet breakfast (great idea making rolls btw Dzer) they also do buffet dinners at night for a set price. Youre obviously close to the park, and the hotels all have free bus transfers to and from the park itself. We stayed in the Hotel Santa Fe, and a handy thing to know was theres a Petol filling station right behind it that does a lot of snacks/coffees etc - we got a lot of our grub in there.
How and where do ye book this lads? Package or separate? I think Glen has been a few times he might know
loved the place i got engaged there few years back (9) avent been since though we stayed in the newport bay you would want a nice bit of spending money though its expensive enough if anyone wants info on cost or whatever i can ask herself as she is a travel agent
Was there back in November with herself and thought it was very good.Cost is 114 euro for 1 day pass for the park.Got that done in one day.Didnt do the studios though. If staying in the city get a metro map and it's marked on it but you must change for a main rail line at the end of the metro line.Word of warning avoid the captain eo Michael Jackson thing it blows!!
