The barriers are to be trialled and then considered for use at the Steel City derby at Hillsborough in February. Crowd control issues at Sunday's game are not anticipated but this match offers an opportunity to test the barriers in situ at a match where a large away support is expected before the second Sheffield derby this season. Wednesday supporters occupying the South Stand for this weekend's cup-tie match should also be aware they will be unable to exit via Leppings Lane at the end of the game and should leave the ground through the car park via Penistone Road, or over the bridge on to Parkside Road and Catchbar Lane.
