I think the not playing against a parent club rule only applies to Premier League games.

Its what ever is in the loan contract lads ... typically if a player is on loan at another premier league team you would have it in the loan contract that he cannot play against the parent club; I.E Danny at Bolton.

There is a UEFA rule - think maybe that only applies to Europe?

Not sure what the UEFA rule implies myself. I remember the Premier League brought in the rule about 3 years back when Lua Lua (I think thats who it was) scored the winning club against Newcastle who had him loaned out to Portsmouth. Don't think that streched to domestic cup competitions.

There is also the other scenario where Everton signed Tim Howard permanently last January and there was a gentlemans agreement that he would not play against them in one of the last games of the season.

He didn't play in the match, Everton went 2-0 and the reserve keeper who has not played since, dropped a few clangers the scum won 4-2 (Also Phil Neville scored an og, wonder was that a gentlemans agreements also):mad::mad::mad::mad:
