What do ye make of this signing by arsenal?
i reckon its could be bad for Henry's legend status at arsenal depending on how it goes yet shows alot of loyalty to wenger to come back.
arsenal have nothing to loose free transfer if it doesnt work out their no worse off.
    opinions?

Can't really see it affecting his legendary status. He'll only be there for two months and I don't think anyone is expecting miracles from him. If he can notch a couple of goals it will give their fans a great lift. It might be strange for him though not being top man.

i dont know he wont have the same gloss any more in my opinion. kind of like shearer in newcastle. still a legend but i dont know its not the same. if he can score a few it will lift him to an even higher status withing arsenal. at barca though he was never top man but did alright for a while

Shearer thing is completely different. He went back as manager and took them down. Henry was the main player in their best ever team and is their record goalscorer. Two poor months couldn't do much to damage that legacy. I didn't say not being top man would affect his performance just that it might be strange to go back into the arsenal dressing room where you're not the tallisman anymore.

A one legged Henry would be better than Gervinho. He has been a massive disappointment and I would say Henry's signing is a lot to do with Gervinho going to the African Nations.

i wasnt saying it was the same just saying sometimes if your a legend it might not always be best to return. i suppose you are right about it only being two months and they havent spent a penny bar wages and insurance. his statue will remain after these two months. how many of the current arsenal team have played with him bar van persie do you know? just curious

Pat Nevin was saying the other week ( he is probably my favorite pundit btw) that Gervinho is the best player in the league without the ball and also the quickest. He reckoned that confidence was the only thing stopping him becoming as good as Henry.

As for Henry he's well past it, may get a goal or 2 but overall his impact will be minimal, today's loss once again leaves them 1 defeat from another full blown crisis.

I think this is a good move for both parties - 2 months isn't a long time.

So long as we don't get Keano back.

actually that wouldnt be too bad if we got him for 2 months for free, he scores goals and he does work hard for a team. I dont think that would be too bad.

    Agree on both counts ...

    A) The Thiery Henry deal is defo a good one ...

    B) I'd also take Robbie back on a short term loan deal. I don't think Robbie's a bad bloke and while it's no secret that it didn't happen for him when he came to LFC, the circumstances are very different now and he remains, a proven goal scorer. To have Robbie for 2 months while we are short of fire power, could be a massive advantage for LFC, unless we are about to write a cheque for two quality and proven, goal scorers.

I agree, i see no downside to having robbie as short term cover, especially if suarez is serving his ban

    Not bent though :D

Robbie would be a good addition to the way we play but it wont happen.
