I think he's been brought in to change the clubs philosophy. It's a huge job and there is going to be plenty of setbacks. Who knows he might never get it right. But imo they're better off taking the pain now. He's moving out some of the old gaurd and I think come the summer he'll try and move on lampard and maybe even terry. They're both players who could undermine him and if certain accounts are to be believed have done so to previous managers. To get the best out of a group of players you need them to have belief in your methods and I doubt those two do because Lampard isn't seeing as much game time and his style doesn't play to Terry's strengths. If they get champions league football this season then it's been a good season for them but it's a big if. It will be interesting to see what abramovich does if they don't but if you're not going to give a manager the backing he needs then you may aswell not have him.
Yes indeed, I hear Abram picked the song list, they're kicking off with " walkin' on down the road " for AVB, followed by a song to AVB from fat Lamps " why don't you love me ", " Thirty dirty birds " for Terry, " Knock me down " for Drogba, " Even you Brutus " Torres and finally another one for AVB " if you want me to stay ". A lot of stuff from their old catelogue there and no hits. Should be a cracking party.
