Went to see Christy play last night in Vicar St - brilliant gig and he was in great form. First time seeing him live and well worth going to see. Played Joxer and got the whole place hoping. Had some song I had never heard before called Weekend in Amsterdam (written by some neighbour in Kildare).
He;s never lost it.In fact I think that he's better than ever.I try to see him live once every 2 years or so.
He is playing on the 7th April in the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool, its the same day we play Aston Villa. I've booked tickets to see him play there.
Will be going to this also, never seen the great man play yet. Aul pair seen him play in Mullingar there 2 weeks ago and said he put on a great show, 2 hours non stop.
You are meant to be a Kildare man and have never seen him live...shocking. Seen Christy close on 30 times now, never once has he failed to live up to it. Picked up an LP of his debut paddy on the road and got it signed by him. I am friends with his sister and he is very good to his hometown, never forgets his roots and when Moorefield play our hated rivals or make the county final, always look for christy in the donkey jacket and wooly hat. Best places i have seen him are: The Barrowlands in Glasgow(this is his fav venue) Standing gig in the pod supported by Damo and Jinx Lennon. Ryston boxing hall in Newbridge with support from my mate's band. De Barra's in Clonakilty. Derry Vicar Street. And that Amsterdam song was written by a good mate of mine,Paul McCormack. He is a friend of Luka's and a total legend here in Newbridge.
Just listened to that song, that's kwality, breaking me bollix laughing at it. It'd be great if he made an appearance at the justice gig in a few weeks time.
