Anyone know if its possible to repair the pop-out LCD touchscreen of a camcorder, just like the one above? Its a SONY HDD.

The camcorder fell and the LCD got damaged. Its only possible to see about half the screen now - the rest is blacked out with lines through it. Its virtually impossible to use but it does still work and records fine. When you play a recording back on tv its fine. But you cannot play a recording back on the LCD. Also you cannot see the REC and time elapsed when it is recording, and its impossible to make any other selections on the LCD as well.

I hope its possible to repair the LCD at a reasonable price because otherwise its fine. Any ideas or suggestions where I might be able to get it repaired? Thanks.

If you give me the model number, it would be easier to find out if it's possible to source a new/used LCD screen for it.. it's a pretty simple job to replace them...

Can't seem to find a screen online, I'll have a look around a bit more though...

Is the LCD screen definitely broken, as there seems to be a lot of the cables for sale..

(If it was the cable that was broken, the screen would just be blank all the time... if it's the LCD that's broken, then your screen will have a backlight, but be damaged / not displaying anything...)
